10 Good Luck Charms Around The World. by mamba808(m): 1:15pm On Nov 17, 2015
Bad day at work? A test at school tomorrow? Planning on asking that hottie out? Keep your eyes trained for these because a little extra luck could never hurt! These lucky charms have their own meanings around the world. While you may not be able to see all of them at least one is bound to put a spring in your step and a tune on your lips. If you see any of these, today take it as a good sign to do that thing you were always scared to do! The time is now!
Here are 10 lucky Charms that you may have to get and Win all.

1. RAINDOWS. Double rainbow all the way across the sky. Not only are they a pretty reminder that the rain has passed, but rainbows have also been signs of luck and peace for years and years in many countries around the world. This lucky charm started in the Old Testament of the Bible when God made a rainbow appear after flooding the Earth for 40 days to show that peace would now be restored. Apart from the religious meaning, the Irish also tell the tales of leprechauns hiding their pots of gold at the end of rainbows — which doesn’t help much considering how quickly they disappear and how you can never find the end!

2. LADYBUGS.
Pretty in all colors. These cute little beetles have more purpose than just looking pretty. Traditionally, ladybugs were supposed to bring good luck and wealth, and wearing a ladybug necklace or having one land on you will give you patience, better your day and make those niggling problems go away. The same was said of illness, good weather and even how many kids you’ll have! If a ladybug with tons of spots landed on a recently married woman’s hand, the dots would indicate how many children she would have. But be careful, if you kill a ladybug you may be cursed with bad luck and many other troubles!

3. A FOUR-LEAF CLOVER. The luckiest plant there is! Ah, the old four-leaf clover. As rare as a chicken with teeth, the four-leaf clover became a popular lucky charm due to the Irish St. Patrick’s Day. These clovers aren’t very common, so you may have to dig around to find one! Keeping one on you is considered to be good luck, or if you pick it while walking then, unexpected success will come across your path. As I was told by my late great-grand dad back then that, when Adam and Eve were forced to leave the Garden of Eden she took a four-leaf clover for luck and that is where all others sprang from. Either way, if you find one keep those leaves close!

4. HIND RABBIT'S FOOT. Leaping into luck. Rabbit’s feet are considered lucky in several ways, except for the rabbit of course. According to the tradition, the fact that rabbits reproduce so quickly means that if you have fertility problems and have a rabbit’s foot it will increase your fertility and allow you to have children. This works for either men or women and given as a blessing at weddings. Others believe that having the rabbit’s foot will give you the strength and speed needed to escape dangerous situations. We’re not sure how that works, considering how the rabbit obviously didn’t get away!

5. CRICKETS. Chirp chirp chirping away. Now this is a belief that goes back thousands and thousands of years! Back in the olden days, Western people believed that finding a cricket on your fireplace meant that your house was blessed and would prosper. On the other side, Asian countries thought that crickets were like guards, and if the crickets went quiet, they knew danger was coming. In Europe and Asia, it is considered incredibly unlucky to kill a cricket, and Native American tribes believed that imitating the noise was a sign of disrespect. The image of the cricket was even used to ward off evil in ancient times, and their chirping meant that the village was a place of prosperity.

6. ELEPHANTS. Wise giants of the world. Everyone knows that elephants never forget, but did you know they were lucky? The symbol of the elephant is supposed to ward off death and help you to overcome great difficulties. The Hindu deity Ganesha has an elephant’s head and is the Hindu god of luck, and the image of Ganesha has been used for thousands of years to keep bad luck away. Having elephant figurines or statues near a doorway is supposed to help elongate your life and bring luck to your home. Because elephants are traditionally considered to be wise, strong and intelligent, so their image is like a blessing.

7. HORSESHOES. Keeping luck under foot. Strap in, because this is a big one! The horseshoe is supposed to signify power over evil, good luck and fortune as well as fertility. The horseshoe is used because horses are stable, dependable and loyal, and the horseshoes were used to keep loved ones safe. A horseshoe pointed downwards symbolized fertility and would help bless a house with children while one hung outside would keep the house safe and keep strangers with evil intent away. This could have come from the legend of the 10th-century legend of Saint Dunstan, who trapped and warded off the devil with a horseshoe. Believed that a horseshoe pointing upwards gathers luck while one pointing downwards showers you with luck.

8. A COIN. Flip a coin! In an age, when most of us use cards for everything, a penny doesn’t seem like much. But leaving a coin behind causes massive bad luck, so you’ll want to think again! If the coin is damaged in any way or bent, then it’s even luckier because it is unique among all other coins. Even better if you get it as change after paying for something because then it found you! These coins are thought to be even luckier when they’re worn on a chain around the neck or kept in the left pocket of your pants.

9. DOLPHINS. So long and thanks for all the fish! Considered to be lucky by hordes of ancient cultures around the world, the dolphin is one seriously lucky symbol. The dolphin was deemed to be protective by Native Americans and Christians, and seeing one meant that your day would be lucky. This is said to have come from the ancient sailors who spent ages at sea, and who believed that dolphins swimming with the ship would carry them safely to their destination. Other sailors found that the dolphins were a sign that land was near. With those happy faces, how could they not be lucky?

10.
Honestly, I don't know!!! Add yours and make it complete. Here in Nigeria many more things are classified as good luck charms. (My view: Seeing a lady or man early in the morning before uttering any word or the first person you meet on your way out to start your daily chores, may bring ones luck). LOL!!!
