A middle aged man, on Wednesday in Kaduna slaughtered four of his children and attempted to kill himself after an alleged quarrel with his wife.

Today in Kaduna, a man in his middle age locked the entrance to his house and used knife to murder four of his children who were between the ages of 1 – 6years.

Neighbours said that the man enforced his wife to leave their house at Ahmadu Bello street in Kawo, Kaduna city, after they had argued all through the night.

One of the man’s child, who was not in the house when the tragic incident occurred, drew the attention of the ward head of the area on finding that the door to their house was locked from the inside this afternoon.

The police and the neighbours found the four children dead but met their dad alive in critical condition after forcing open the entrance door.

Police spokesman in the state, Zubairu Abubakar, said that the man and the children had been conveyed to St Gerards General Hospital in Kakuri, Kaduna.
