Human Resource Management
Manage all operational aspects of the human resource administration processes, systems and services of the group
Ensure the company complies with all relevant and current HR legislation and directives as provided by the Nigerian Labour Law, Pension Act, Employee Compensation, Life Insurance, etc
Coordinate the performance appraisal circle and advise management as per the outcome with recommended action
Coordinate the recruitment, documentation and general management of expatriates contract and welfare
Provide advice, both written and verbal, in relation to the interpretation and application of legislation, directives, policies, industrial awards and company PPP (policies, procedures and processes) to ensure business needs are met.
Contribute to the review and development of appropriate HR plans, policies, procedures and practices for company.
Provide advice on payroll, employment conditions and employment information to accounts staff and account for payroll processing with internal audit & risk management
In consultation with external HR / IR advisors, provide support services to company management and staff in relation to employee relations, HR issues and grievance processes including performance reviews, mediation and termination processes
Research and prepare briefs, submissions and correspondence on human resource operations and payroll issues and liaise with external agencies as required.
. Attraction, Recruitment, Selection and Performance Management
Coordination of recruitment and selection processes including:
a. Develop and implement appropriate staff attraction strategies and initiatives.
b. Assist in the advertising functions for Establishments, including finalisation of job advertisements online and in printed media, and the maintenance of vacancy information on company Extranets and associated websites
c. Manage the preparation of appointment letters and contracts and the implementation of salary packaging for nominated employees.
d. Develop and perform necessary job analyses, job evaluation and job descriptions.
e. Advise and support staff during recruitment and selection activities
f. Oversight of end to end recruitment and selection process to ensure timely and effective outcomes
g. Manage and coordinate associated reporting for probation requirements

3. Systems and Processes
Manage the organisation’s human resource systems and procedures to deliver quality outcomes and continuous improvement.
Ensure appropriate validation and quality control of human resource administration actions
Provide operational human resource information and analysis relating to workforce profiles and trends, benchmarking data and analysis advice.
Develop, implement and review work procedures and systems and assist in policy development that contributes to effective, professional HR operations.
Maintain up to date HR information systems and provide advice to staff as required
Confidential maintenance of organisational personnel files
Governance of HR processes including payroll and the processing of new and exiting employees.

4. Training / Induction
Oversee, guide and deliver company induction programs for new staff, volunteers and contractors in relation to conditions of employment and procedures and practices.
Together with the Training Manager, provide appropriate internal education and training processes.
Together with the Director and the Workplace Health and Safety Manager, provide appropriate staff induction and safety training.

5. General
Participate as a team member and assist in the identification and implementation of opportunities for improved management processes and work practices
Develop and maintain a sound knowledge of administrative and compliance policies, procedures and systems
Liaise, consult and negotiate with a diverse group of company staff at various levels of management to determine the needs of company
Report identifiable risk so that immediate action can be taken
Uphold and promote the policies and mission of company
Comply with all practices in the Quality Manual
Maintain the quality system and report any deviations from it
Represent the company at an industry or sector level
i. Maintain strict confidentiality of all company information, records and files
Any other duties as delegated1. Degree qualifications in Human Resource Management or related disciplines
2. Minimum seven years experience in a similar role
3. Extensive knowledge of current HR and IR legislative requirements
4. Highly developed communication, interpersonal and teamwork skills.
5. Analytical and problem solving skills to manage spreadsheet and database applications to enable the successful extraction, reporting and presentation of computerised HR data.
6. High level of computer literacy and proficiency in the Microsoft Office suite
7. High level abilities in oral and written communication, including the ability to prepare and present training sessions, correspondence, reports and submissions of a complex nature
8. Demonstrated ability to successfully work both independently and as part of a team.
9. High level of research skills
10. Knowledge of the operations of Oil & Gas, Maritime, Mining and Construction businesses.
