There is no definite strategy or particular formula for becoming a successful entrepreneur. The entrepreneurial path is different from all other works of life and needs brilliant entrepreneurial skills. It was never stated that before one can be an entrepreneur he or she has to have a degree.

If you wish to become an entrepreneur as a kid, teenage, youth, adult or at retirement age the process and principles are all the same irrespective of your degree or how much you have in your bank account. Nelson Mandela, former president of South Africa once said “money won’t relate success, the freedom to make it will” And I’m with him on that, you actually do not need money to make money. Nothing is more irritating than hearing one of the many generalizations that affect the business world and corrupts the mind of young entrepreneurs.

You’ve have heard them, you may have even fallen for this false aphorism;
“Follow your passion"
“Fake it till you make it” “Entrepreneurs are born, not made”
Perhaps, the most damaging I have heard so far is:
“It takes money to make money”.

However, after much research, I have been able to enumerate 10 strategies of becoming a successful entrepreneur without a degree or money. But before I continue, I vividly remember when and where and even from whom I first heard those aphorisms.
I was barely a week into the blogosphere, I had just heard and known what it meant to be an entrepreneur, so I loved it and decided to meet with an accomplished entrepreneur, with great entrepreneurial skills, he was married, had 3 kids studying abroad but lived alone in Lagos.

I can’t actually remember the context of our conversation but I know at that time what I wanted to learn were basic web design and basic graphics design for a start with a dream to reach great height, but when he said those words to me I was seriously wounded, discouraged and completely bewildered. At that point I had started my first blog with hardly any money at all. But I had a dream driven with passion, so I was able to get over what he said to me and know that it didn’t make sense, it wasn’t true and that it was also not applicable to me.

Now, my first blog which was an entertainment based niche didn’t require much money at all because it was on the blogger CMS platform. All it demanded was data connection, time and me learning how to write. I told myself that not having money couldn’t stop me from having a blog of my own. I may have delayed or even killed my own dreams listening to what he told me, but I figured it out, and most importantly, attacked my goal with the little resources I had already.

10 Strategies of becoming a successful entrepreneur without a degree or money;

Change your perception
Remove the thought that without money or a degree you can’t be a successful entrepreneur. But here are questions I need you to answer for me,
Are you prepared for the challenges involved?
Are you mentally prepared to be your own boss?
To become self-employed and succeed at what you do, you must change that wrong perception that clouds your mind. You must transit from being mentally independent. How do you do this? Start making researches, start reading books and train yourself. You must be accountable and most importantly; you must be prepared to fail because failure is a pathway to success.

Identify your core skills
What is it you feel you have or can do that no other person on planet earth can do? What service can you offer in exchange for money that people are willing to pay for?
Do you have any talents or hobby? You must be able to provide solid answers to these questions if you wish to be a successful self-employed entrepreneur.

Learn how to explore opportunities
The first key to becoming a successful business owner is finding the right opportunity. Learning is a gradual process; you must continue to learn to see opportunities others wouldn’t see.

You need to learn how to always turn your problems into opportunities. By so doing, you’ve picked the first piece of the puzzle to building a strong business.

I agree with u bro...... My first time into d blogging system was really confusing dat a nigga told me to bring 20k just to open one but i told him i didn't have such amount.. So e told me to get lose, but with determination dat same day nd night i opened my first blog by myself...... How much do u think creating a perfect private WordPress will cost?

The disadvantage of a using a is that u don't have much control over it. I can develop a website for u where u can do ur blogging and make revenues from google adsense. I can do it for u for 12k both the hosting and design.

[ Setting up a nice WordPress blog won't cost up to 20k. Hosting should be around 11-12k then first year domain is around 600 naira. Well WordPress blogs cost money, but asking a newbie for 20k? ...

I disagree with you martins... You have just as much control as a WordPress blogger has in blogger blogs. Jide is on the blogger platform and he is doing well. Yomiprof is on the blogger platform and he is doing well. So it all depends on the blogger knowing what he is doing.
