What's the most effective ab workout exercise for you?

I haven't worked on my abs in such a long time and I want to get back to it 'cos I'm starting to see some excess meat on my belly.

Any ideas?

Register @ a good gym and use their Ab equipments regularly. Then watch your food intake, quantity and fat quality. Avoid stress also. . .it has a way of increasing fat storage.

Should this be here or Health even? lol grin grin I think I've seen a nice 'flat tummy' thread in Health section where some nice lady gives pretty good tips.

Yeah I couldn't figure out if it's best to have it here or in the health section, since I am more concerned with the ab exercise.

Running is definitely the way to go.

Add a couple of crunches to that and U would be amazed at the results.

I agree with that. the problem with me is, as much as i run and do all these cardio exercises, i fail to follow them up with workouts that target my various parts of my core.

i have to start working on those now.

that's because they either have fast metabolism because they're still young or they only eat enough to maintain their weight w/o exercise.

My metablism might be starting to slow down. I'm not fat but I feel a bit of meat on my belly and I want to work it off. Simple as that.

I spend a lot of time running, but I would much rather target the belly. You can be my wo partner. Time to do something about that round belly of yours.

I don't think there are any exercises that target the belly. if you exercise to build abs the abs will just cover the fat that's already on your belly making the fat harder to burn.
ppl store fats in different places that is prolly determined genetically. lol most men store fat in their stomach i think and women store it in their thighs I think. If u exercise to lose weight, the fat in ur stomach will come off then you can do ab workouts. or u can do both simultaneously doesn't matter i guess
just keep running and eat less.


my belly is not fatty. lol

Women store fat in their thighs, really? Naija men would definitely have a hard time believing that, with all these Naija women we have running around with protruding bellies. Are you telling me there's more excess fat downstairs too

by puffy stomach u mean bloated? probably you drink too much water or eat too much salt. idunno
also, if u were once muscular and then stopped working put maybe ur body burned off the muscle and replaced it with fat since u weren't working out anymore.keep doing ur ab workout then i guess

Lol noo my muscles did not atrophy.  I'm not a buff guy or a gym freak.  I'm more of a fit kind of person.  That's why I run around a lot.

No, my belly ain't bloated.  My pack lines are still there but are not as well-defined as before

lol. I don't know how to help u just work out more I guess do sit ups undecided . I remember when I did sit ups everday my stomach was really tight.
