Since when did HDD size become the yardstick by which a gamer's seriousness is measured?

Is the 360 NTSC or PAL? It ain't region free, ya know.

I am not using the HDD capacity as a point of reference rather I was referring to the particular type of console, U most be aware there r diff versions of these consoles and the Elite for example is the TOP of the version for the 360 with most features inclusive out of the box! Moreover since they are also not all about just games rather Multimedia devices, I should think the higher the HDD the better or what do you say?

Yes, everyone knows the Xbox isnt region free so this is an NTSC.

Not really. Everything is on a price-to-performance ratio, so a higher HDD size you'll likely not fill up will cost extra money you can spend elsewhere.
I have a 60GB PS3 with less than 30GB in use. The PS3 doesn't upscale movie files, so it isn't of much use as a DivX player if you have alternatives.

Well, as for me ( a true playstation fan ) I just want the best PS3 in the market so far which is ofcourse the 180gb limited edition consoles. I know I will not use up 120gb but its my desire for the best, thats why I want it. I got my first playstation in 1998, I got my ps2 in 2000, I got my PS3 in 2006 (but it was a 40gb PS3) 40 GB ps3s cannot play ps2 cds.

Anyways, enough of that history class. Bottom line is that if a PS3 that has more space that 180gb comes out, I will probably sell the 180gb ps3 once I get it and buy the one with more space. I will even sell the old 180 gb PS3 and buy a new one for minor things like a change in color of a new editon or if limited editions are on sale.

It boils down to what you want and what you can afford. I have a 60Gb Lauch Ps3 and i know how much i paid for it just so i can get the full backward compactibility, extra USB slots, Card readers and HDD space. The Hdd is full to the Brim and I have an extra Western Digital 1TB external pluged in cos i got over 300 High quality Divx files and the list is continually growing. With the most recent software update on my console, it does a very good job of upscaling my 700-900MB Divx files to match my Full HD Bravia LCD.  I have an alternative Samsung HT that does divx but the playback quality of the same files is crap so, i am quite happy with the ps3 playback of my multimedia files.

@ Utotomi5     I feel you brother,  follow ur heart jare!!   Btw, Sony has got a load of new softwares announced yesterday in the ongoing E3 like God of war 3 and Final Fantasy XIV !! Men cant wait to lay ma hands on that FF!!
