Usually, the pain is mild enough to treat at home. Infants and toddlers may show pain by crying, refusing to walk or pointing to the place that hurt. Pay attention to these signs. Try different ways to ease pain to see which ones help the most. HOME REMEDIES Drinking lots of fluids Rest or play quietly Take a warm bath Put a heating pad or warm moist towel on sore places Massage the place that hurts Take acetaminophen (Paracetamol, Tylenol) or Ibuprofen (Ibupain, Bufen, Advil or Nuprin) If Pain becomes severe, Consult your Doctor KEEP YOUR CHILD BUSY Keeping your child busy is an important way to deal with the pain. The child can talk to people The child can watch TV The child can play games or listen to music HELP YOUR CHILD LEARN TO RELAX Your child may hurt less if she is able to relax.
