A company known as Kantanka Group which has had its locally produced cars that in the pipeline for close to 45 years has finally hit the market with a fleet of made-in-Ghana cars ready for sale. The company is owned by owned by Apostle Kwadwo Safo Kantanka who owns a network of churches and a vast arable land for farming who is said to have finally realized his dream of developing and marketing cars “Made in Ghana”. The son of the inventor, Kwadwo Safo Jnr who is the chief executive officer of Kantanka Group has finally gotten the breakthrough to make head way into the market after putting so many efforts to get attention and support from the government. Kwadwo is confident about the uniqueness of the cars, which have all been approved for safety by Ghana’s Drivers Vehicle Licensing Authority (DVLA) He said that the Made in Ghana label means that
“If you have any problems with the vehicle, you wouldn’t have to import from India or China or America. All the parts are right here and we have a 24-hour service. Already we have certain companies in Ghana who have come to make certain outrageous orders for huge numbers that we have to meet.
“The future of Kantanka for the next 10 years is to try as much as possible to increase our lines. To the company’s current three lines, we intend to increase by next year January, February and add two more lines to it.
He concluded, "We intend to go into more lines like buses, mini-vans and all that.” More photos made by Katanka on; http://www.news-world-update.com/2015/12/made-in-ghana-car-finally-hits-market.html
