(win), 1.5 (draw) and 0 (lost), and so on with the next lower levels. The same system applies for the play-off matches.

National Cups
teams from the strongest leagues (Group 4) will receive 12 points each for the last four rounds, those from the second-strongest leagues 8, those from the third-strongest leagues 5, and those from the weakest leagues (Group 1) 2.5 points. All other details not will be changed.

To get to the world cup you have to win matches abi to win the cup, more points abi

For the season in review, Hamburg certainly would'a chalked up more points than Bayern or Bremen. . . . . they got to the semi-finals of the UEFA cup and DVB-Pokal _{or whatever y'all call it out there in deuschland} and were fifth position in your ligue - all the way to the last day, they had a chance of even being German Champs.

Bremen - fine cup runs but tenth  in the ligue and you expect em to be in the top 10

Bayern - surely you're not expecting them to be in the top 10  ; just compare their season to that of Hamburg and even Bremen!?

The standings are a fair reflection of how the season's been - no questioning that UTD and Barca were the dominant teams.
My only grouse would be Arsenal being so high up - but we already know that some ligues get a higher point award than others - don't we

Trust a scumtwat to say that - but you have no issues with Liverpool right? We got to the semis of both the CL and FA cup (unlike Liverpool) and went further than them in the Carling Cup, yet because we finished two places behind them they are ranked higher. The ranking system is not perfect but is a rational method of assessment.

3 of the top 4 EPL teams made it to the final rounds of the UCL, they all even amassed more points than Bayern or even Wolfsburg your champs.
Its not only the # of UCL games that you win that counts.

As for Bremen, head to head with Hamburg in the cup competitions both were involved, they might shade it a little; but the deficit comes in the league where there were miles behind hamburg. . . . . based on this who do you think would have more points
