"And He is the head of the body, the church, who is the beginning, the firstborn from the dead, that in all things He may have the preeminence." (Col 1:18).
In verse sixteen of the Scripture quoted above the Holy Spirit revealed that all things were created by Christ, through Christ and for Christ. And this question might come to mind: WHY? Why are all things created by Christ, through Christ and for Christ. And in the verse quoted above the Holy Spirit answered this question by saying "that in all things He may have the preeminence." Yes that is why all thing were created for Christ, that is why Christ is the purpose and meaning of all things, that is why all things are created to be shadows, symbols, pictures and representations of Christ. It was so, so that Christ might have preeminence over all things.

This reveals the plan of God before creation, the purpose of God for creation and mystery of God unto creation. It also reveals all that God had been doing right from creation until now, it reveals the meaning and the purpose of all God's activities in the Old Testament. And Paul caught a revelation of this all inclusive purpose and then he said:
"For He [Christ] must reign till He has put all enemies under His feet." (1Cor 15:25)

This is the reason why Christ is reigning, this is the objective of his Lordship: that he might bring all thing beneath his feet. That he might be supreme over all, exercising dominion over all, all things must come and bow beneath his feet. And wait, there is more in the opening verse above, it mentioned the Church. What does the Church have to do with this? That verse says "He is the head of the body, the church...". For some reason the Holy Spirit seems to draw attention to the truth that Christ is the head and the Church is the body. The body is what the head uses to carry out it activities.

And now Christ must reign until he has preeminence over all, how his he going to do it? Of course through his body, yes through the Church Christ would reign and through the Church he would bring all things under his feet: this is the mystery of God from the foundation of the world, the all governing plan. It is all about God working through His people to bring everything including the devil to their knees, to be humbled before Christ. Yes, you and I would bring the devil to his knees in humiliation.

This is not just a news but a reality that God seeks to bring into manifestation and you and I are going to be vessels He would use. We must give ourselves to this and pursue it because it is the very heart of the Father: Christ having preeminence over all through his Church.

Christ is sited above all and all creation must experience his supremacy.
