Chelsea management's decision to sack Mourinho was not because he lacked managerial skills to turn the futunes of Chelsea Fc in face of its difficult start in the premier league nor was it because of his technical abilities. The decision was informed by worsening working relationship between the players and the coach. When players are no longer giving their best because of the coach, there's nothing the coach can do. That's the way it is in soccer. Jose Mourinho still remains one of the greatest football manager in world football.

Not one of the best - he is the fvcking best and should be the greatest when it is all said and done.

Sad day for real Chelsea football fans, especially those of us who have been supporting the team, from way back when we were mediocre and our coaches were both players and coaches. Way before Abramovich came with his billions. Days when we just enjoyed watching Zola thrill us with his amazing skills and enjoy the grittiness and heart of our midget captain, Dennis Wise.

Jose Mourinho brought the winning mentality to Chelsea and created a style/philosophy/ ideology - that won us trophies and gave us bragging rights, even when he was away after first spell. He's Chelsea and Chelsea is Mourinho. He'll definitely go into the annals of history as the greatest coach we ever had and one of the best brains to ever coach in the EPL. The special one and an enigma.

They sabotaged his effort this season and this won't even put a dent on his CV. Hopefully, he'll move to the Bundesliga and win trophies there before retiring from club football.

He should get close to £40million in compensation for the sack. That's not bad for Mr. Chelsea.

We love you, Jose Mourinho - the greatest one. Jose! Jose!! Jose!!!

Chelsea have sacked manager Jose Mourinho seven months after he led them to the Premier League title.

The 52-year-old Portuguese had been in his second spell at the club, taking charge in June 2013.

Chelsea finished eight points clear last season and also won the League Cup, but have endured a terrible start to their defence, losing nine of their 16 league games so far.

Mourinho's final match was Monday's 2-1 defeat at leaders Leicester City.

Pep Guardiola, Guus Hiddink, Brendan Rodgers and Juande Ramos have all been touted as possible successors

He leaves with Chelsea just a point off the relegation zone and 20 points behind Leicester.

Champions League qualification via one of the top four spots in the Premier League looks almost impossible.

However, the Blues are through to the last 16 of European football's biggest club competition, where they will face French champions Paris St-Germain in February and March.

Mourinho only signed a new four-year contract on 7 August and is Chelsea's most successful manager.

He won three Premier League titles, two of those in his first spell between 2004 and 2007.

The Portuguese has also won the FA Cup, in 2007, and the League Cup three times - in 2005, 2007 and 2015.

It has not only gone wrong in the Premier League for Mourinho, he has also had his issues off the pitch.

A 2-2 draw with Swansea on 8 August was overshadowed by a fallout with his medical team, in particular club doctor Eva Carneiro.

Carneiro had her role downgraded after Mourinho said his medical staff were "naive" for running onto the pitch to treat attacking midfielder Eden Hazard.

She eventually left on 22 September and is now taking legal action against Mourinho and the Blues.

Mourinho also received a suspended stadium ban and £50,000 fine for claiming referees were "afraid" to award his team penalties in a 3-1 home loss to Southampton in October.

He subsequently had to serve a one-match stadium ban and pay a £40,000 fine for his behaviour during a 2-1 defeat by West Ham, when he spoke to referee Jon Moss at half-time.

Doesn't he usually quit or get fired in or around the 3rd season mark?

The guy is a one trick pony. Sets his teams out über defensive, gets them really motivated for a season or two and then falls out with them, the board, the owners, and even the fans.

Why did anyone think he was gonna change his entire way of management after all this time?

Mourinho's position became untenable, he had to go.

You can talk about having a squad overhaul but isn't that pretty much what Mourinho has done since he came back? They're his players and if his players no longer want to play for him, which appears to be the case, then removing Mourinho is the obvious solution, as good as he is.

Say what you want about Roman but this isn't an example of him being trigger happy or shortsighted. If anything he's given Mourinho more time than you'd expect given how poor Chelsea have been this
season.

WHO IS THE SPECIALIST IN FAILURE NOW? MOURINHO SACKED AND IT'S ALL HIS OWN FAULT The Special One has been sacked by the Stamford Bridge club for the second time in his career and with disharmony in the squad rife he has nobody to blame but himself Deja vu but with a difference. For all the talk of dynasties and domination Jose Mourinho has been sacked as manager of Chelsea for the second time. But unlike seven years ago, he leaves nothing but a trail of destruction and scorched earth in his wake. Just seven short months ago Mourinho was cavorting around Wembley, sliding along the rain- sodden turf celebrating victory over Tottenham in the Capital One Cup final, claiming he was very much in it for the long haul. A few weeks later the Premier League trophy returned to Stamford Bridge after a five-year absence with Mourinho having masterminded a campaign of total domination, his opponents reduced to rubble. With Christmas approaching, however, his goose is finally cooked. The man who delighted in calling his main adversary a specialist in failure is now a specialist in getting sacked. Real Madrid had enough of him and his attention seeking antics, now Chelsea have dispensed with him for a second time. Where and what next for Mourinho is a matter for another day. Perhaps a break will do the 52-year-old the world of good and offer him a much needed opportunity to reflect on where it all went wrong. He won’t have to look further than the mirror. In the cold light of day the car crash of a season he has presided over is largely of his own making. While he has been pointing the finger at anyone that moves, be it the Football Association, referees and even his now former physio, in the cold light of day he can only reflect that this was a mess of his own making. The board may have failed to deliver him the players he wanted to elevate a title-winning side to one capable of challenging the La Liga heavyweights and Bayern Munich, but there is no way a team that finished eight points ahead of the pack last season should now find themselves embroiled in a fight to preserve their Premier League status. Mourinho has turned champions into chumps. Eden Hazard, last season’s player of the year, has failed to score in 27 games. Diego Costa has forgotten where the goal is, Cesc Fabregas could barely spell the word assist at present and stalwarts like John Terry, Gary Cahill and Branislav Ivanovic look like washed up has- beens. In 2008, when the friction between Mourinho and Roman Ambramovich forced the latter to sack the former, Chelsea were still in a relatively healthy position. Indeed, a manager as limited and inexperienced as Avram Grant was able to steer the Blues to the brink of the title and was a missed penalty away from winning the Champions League. Whoever inherits this mess of a squad has a far harder job on their hands. In their present state this current Chelsea team are capable of losing to anyone from Bournemouth to Barcelona. Incredibly, dragging the side away from relegation trouble becomes the primary objective before the new incumbent can even begin to think about restoring harmony and forging a path to the latter stages of this season’s champions League. Mourinho’s behaviour has warranted the sack. He has been asking for it ever since the seven-minute monologue following defeat to Southampton back in October. For the first time this season he has what it appears he has wanted all along; a break from Chelsea and a break from football.

The concern by Jose's fans, the jubilation by haters and the cacophony caused by this sack just shows how great and revered Mourinho is. Fans love him so much while haters hate him so so much that they are afraid having him around.

The signs were there at the end of teh last season. Not giving his team the third degree after they lost 3-0 to West Brom, yes the West Brom team managed by Tony Pulis who have probably never scored 3 in a match since.

Allowing them to carry Drogba off mid-match.

He allowed them to switch off, some of them had achieved what they set out to do and got into almost a retirement mindset (Fabregas).

Have to agree with the Remy part. Jose's reluctance to play him has essentially got him the sack as Costa has been awful this year and Remy would have undoubtedly scored far more goals.

I even did an article on it.

I just hope that the interim manager plays Remy otherwise not much will change I fear.

Average squad? What?

Posted this on another article the other day but calls for it:

These players are all good players, let's not berate their ability/talent just to big up Mourinho. This squad last season was seen as one of the best in the PL, full of internationals about to enter their mid-twenties. It was pointed out sometimes that we didn't have a large squad but then many people would say it was offset by how good our first XI was.

These aren't players who've only performed last season. Matic was Primeira Liga player of the year in his final season, Hazard was POTS last season and has always been in PFA team of the year, Fabregas had a 1 in 3 record at Barce making over 150 appearances for them, Costa just been the spearhead in attack to an Atletico side that won the league and made CL final. Suddenly because they don't perform under Mourinho we have to sell them all and give him another £200m to spend only to rinse and repeat in 3 years due to Jose's lack of long term plans and long term man management.[/b]

Why were Costa and Hazard, and several other players so good last season, then strangely awful, months later.

Could it be the negative impact of the Jose ego, as occurred at Real?

So amny player sdo not stop playing for no reason, and I came to the conclusion that Jose was a catalyst for our demise.
