Men of the Ondo State Police Command have commenced investigation into the killing of a middle-age man whose headless body was found in Famese community in Akure South Local Government Area of the state.
The body of the man was found in the early hour of Wednesday at the base of a mountain by worshippers who were returning from the mountain after prayer.
According to a source, the headless body of the man which was found by the worshippers could not make them hold the usual mid-week service at the mountain top while the incident was reported at the Ijapo Police Station
He said the police from the Ijapo area responded swiftly and the remains of the man were deposited at the State Specialist Hospital in Akure.
It was gathered that policemen had extended their investigation into other communities surrounding Famese community.
Another source explained that the deceased must have been killed somewhere far from the area and the killer dumped his body in that area.
The Police Public Relations Officer (PPRO) in the, Mr Femi Joseph, who confirmed the incident, denied the allegation of indiscriminate arrests by the police.
Joseph stated that investigation had commenced into the matter, but said no one had been arrested in connection with the killing.
