omonnakoda: minus expenses and partners share . . . somethings are just not right with Nigeria (if we are receiving this much forex via remittances, minus the raw forex being brought in personally, how do you convince me oil prices is almost solely responsible for the Naira's woes?). |
Re: Nigerians Abroad Sent $21Billion Home In 2015 by omonnakoda: 6:32pm On Dec 23, 2015 |
989900:Expenses and partners share are not relevant in this context I already answered that and indeed touched on that in a different context only yesterday. In that context it was relevant ie The government accounts. In this context it is not. The remittances are not being remitted to government but into the economy ditto for the oil revenue. omonnakoda: 1 Like |

omonnakoda: We're talking about forex inflow into Nigeria. Leave the issue of costs out of it for now. Let's talk about gross. What you calculated does not accrue to Nigeria. Yes or no? And stop sounding so smug. 2 Likes |

Activa: Who is sounding smug here. I do not remember quoting you.You quoted me to "correct" me and now refuse to take correction. I know what I was talking about before you quoted me so it is not for you to tell me what "WE" are talking about. My point was about the comparative contribution of the oil industry versus remittances to the NIGERIAN ECONOMY. The entire receipts from oil are reckoned as part of the Nigerian GDP otherwise you would be suggesting that these remittances from the US and the UK which no doubt are reckoned as part of those two economies are computed as part of Nigeria's economic output. They are not because from the Economic OUTPUT perspective they are not part of Nigerian productivity they are CASHFLOWS just like stolen money ending up in Swiss banks. The comparison then was on the one hand the contribution of a cash inflow versus economic output . I am sorry I cannot spend my time educating you on this and if that irks you as smugness too bad! life is not a cuddly bubble |
Re: Nigerians Abroad Sent $21Billion Home In 2015 by omonnakoda: 7:08pm On Dec 23, 2015 |
989900:Sorry sir you are focussing on Account whilst my point was about GDP they are different issues . When $800 miilion Abacha money ends up in Swiss banks it is still part of NIGERIAN GDP Those remittances which enter Nigeria are still part of UK and US GDP . That was my point this is nothing to do with accounting but ECONOMIC OUTPUT. Might I respectfully suggest you Google the phrase |

Babprosper20: Ignorance is never an excuse to be psychedelic. Your seemingly lack of exposure and retrogressive mentality shouldn't also be a pretext for your outright display of profound foolhardiness, insanity and imbecility. While I understand the fact that the incessant hardship and callous rape of our common patrimony by Nigerian leaders might have affected your mental proficiency and misled you into erroneously assuming that every Nigerian abroad is into sharp practices but I do however, on behalf of all hard working diaspora Nigerians, take an exception from this brazen unwarranted attack on us and implore you to think before making a nuisance of yourself in public fora.
