The area inside the barn.

Through pounded yam,
Down deep in the hole.

Dear Ma,

Have always thought you are bad,
Ranging from evil to worse,
Smiling with the hatred of the old,
But, mistaken I think I am.

I have always with my knife,
Try to attack you till you die,
I wish I am a protector,
To protect your sojourn so far,
Caring and moving with no fear,
For you I will always praise.

Give me a chance to appreciate you,
Your plight I guess I know now,
The death you died hastened by mortar
And the cruelty of the pestle, I plead.

I will stop the swordsman act,
Change my ways to guide your life,
From kidnapper to protector,
To appreciate your effort on my health.

Dead you are and buried in my interment,
But the days you spent laughing and running
In pant, vividly, I still remember.

I know I’m bad but I’ve realised my mistake,
I wish not to kidnap you anymore but be
Your protector, protecting you till the
Last drop of your blood to be taken by my knife,
For a reward, I will need for the job well-done.

Reward to give, nothing greater than your
Graceful protection of my health,
This only your life can achieve, not until
When you are now old to be gone.

Your dripping blood and fleshy flesh,
Will I take till my health now crammed to
Protect and get a new daughter for you,
This, the way it’ll go till the world
Goes up in flames and I, ground I enter.
