Pig farming and consumption have risen rapidly in Nigeria over the past decade driven by population growth, urbanization, increasing incomes, and changing tastes. In Nigeria today, the number of pigs has increased more than tenfold from three decades ago to roughly 3.2 million. More than 1 million households in Nigeria raises pigs and the majority of the pigs are been raised by the people in the rural area.

Pig farming have been a lucrative business everyone want to engage in Nigeria and most people who rush into the business do not succeed as a result of not making a feasible market research before they ventures into the business.
