my broda i had an experience closer to dat, i boarded a keke in uyo, then wen i dropped i gave d keke man 500naira he moved to hustle change so i stepped aside n waited, then my phone rang n i was receiving my call, people were all arnd the place n luckily som of dis pple wey all there b4 i dropped, so afta making the call n was waiting, there was a keke in front of me, then a man came n opened his keke drawer n shouted aei! aei! aei! i tot mayb he has lost a family memba n he is rememberin it, all of a sudden he held me tight and said i have removed all the moni he made that day that am a thief he created a scene and pple com full, since dis place was like a park most of d akperos com gather waiting to lynch me. Now let me state how God saved me, the pple that saw wen i alighted spoke in support of me though i was searched but they argued that i did not even get close to d keke, anoda thing that worked in my favour was that i was with only 500 n 1000 naira note without all dos small small change, i also learnt one thing its gud to be at peace with almost everybody, why i say dis is that in d keke i was with two ladies who refused to adjust so i could sit well, i was so angry that i wanted to raise ma voice at dem but i shunned n decided to manage, this ladies wey d most vocal in my favour had it been i bleeped up with dem they would not have supported me. like u said i dressed fine n dis also helped me. i com d reason wat if i had small small notes with me as well i would hav been a dead man. Everybodi com d tell me thank ur GOD which i did. remembering how lynching is frequent in nigeria i went bck n shared the testimony with family n friendz, i was scared to d bone, i com d imagine myself in fire n said GOD FORBID. This is somtin every NIGERIAN shud condem cos innocent lifes r waisted due to jungle justice n the harsh way they condemn pple to death. i feel relieved sharing this n thanks op for providing d platform n i knw there r lots of pple who hav been accused rongly som r alive today som r dead. Plss nigerians lets say no to jungle justice.

This is a true life personal experience and a great testimony.

If not for the grace of God, i don't know where i would have been by now, maybe heaven or hell grin

On this very day, i went to the Immigration office at Ramat park area, Ikpoba Hill Benin to pick up my passport. The thought of travelling out of the country for the first time was overwhelming. A colleague of mine before i left to pick up the passport gave me 13k to help him pay into the bank.

Because of the enthusiasm within me, i wanted to collect the passport first, then pay the money into the bank on my way back. To show that God is in deed meciful and my mama prayer no dey go in vein grin a spirit just told me why not pay in the money first since you will pass through the bank. My brothers and sisters, i heeded to my instinct, and that saved my life as you will soon find out.

Getting to the Immigration with all the stress and waiting, i finally got my passport o and i was ecstatic! Na first time na grin. On my way back, i boarded a bus to ring road. i couldnt take my hands off the the passport as i was looking at it left, right and centre. I observed that a more advanced lady sitting close to me was just looking at the passport i was holding and smiling. For my mind i say watin dey worry this one, , she never see who hold passport before? cool

Immediately i alighted from the bus, and was walking to board another one, i heard someone calling Bros! Bros! Bros!. i turned and the lady came to me and said ''Bros, na u sitdown near me just now, my 13k dey miss from my pocket'' Mogbe, for ring road of all places embarassed. i just calmly asked her, did you see me branch anywhere else, she said no, and i told her i'm ready to be searched and i don't have your money. At this time, people were already gathering ooo and she was beginning to raise her voice! cry see embarrasment of the century! I was still pleading my innocence when i saw a Civil Defence Officer and i beckoned on him to please come to my aid.

The man called us and was asking us what the problem is all about. I explained all i knew and the lady did same, insisting i took her money from her pocket cry, See a whole me with a good job, sad just because i take public transport!

The security guy then asked the lady, ''you sure say this well dressed young boy take your money?'' she said yes! just then, the agberos around were already waiting to pounce on me! probably to burn me alive. my mind quickly went to Allu 4 at Uniport cry. Then the security man told the lady that if she should search me, and they don't find the money, she will be seriously dealt with and if its found on me, i will go in for it! What if i didn't pay in that 13k? would they have allowed me to explain anything?

Just then, the lady started sturtering that it should not be like that, blah blah blah. The officer became angry with her that she just put my life on the line by accusing me falsely. The market women that have already gathered also started causing the lady, telling her that she wanted to cause the death of an innocent young man! The officer just told me to make sure i thank God enough because i would have just been lynched to death embarassed. i was too dumbfounded to even utter any word. I just looked up and said thank you Jesus and walked away. I felt like calling for her arrest there and pressing for charges bothering on false accusation, but the fact that i just escaped death didn't even make me talk.

LESSON LEARNT
1. Always say your prayers before leaving the house. You might know where you are driving to, but you don't know who is driving towards you.
2. Please my fellow nairalanders, always DRESS PROPERLY. My mode of dressing probably gave me some respect. If i was sagging or carrying one dirty hair style, anything could have happened before you say Lalastic....
3. Don't move around with too much cash.

Thank you and God bless.

Jesus I trust in You.

You have a point there but everything is possible in Nigeria.
As I stated before, the op might have unknowingly given out clues

hmmm, lesson....but how come she mentioned the same amount that was with you, probably she was with detecting charm but it failed her cos your instinct was faster than her charm....you are really lucky

It could have been simply coincidence that she also had the sum of NGN13,000.00 that went missing.

OR if you had gone to the immigration office before the bank, you wouldn't have entered the same exact bus on the same exact seat with the lady.
Nothing supernatural about "what if's"

And 'what if' the friend who sent him to deposit the 13k lay that woman in wait for him somewhere near the immigration center knowing he'd board the bus back from there?

I truly pray it wasn't a set-up by your friend oh.

That old woman winch no get equal.
@Op, thank God for your life. Youths should heed your advice about dressing decently always and praying before leaving home.
IMPORTANT: Always know how much cash you have on you before leaving home; it might save you from embarassment from bus conductors, who can falsely claim you are yet to pay your bus fare or any wicked co-passenger who falsely accuses you of theft.
Nice point uve got there man.
As for me all my currencies are always marked with invincible ink, only visible when I flash my key holder light on the written spot. Mine is done due to theft, I once used it in setting up a police man also, it could also come handy in this kind of situation.

Op, I'm upset with the whole as if it were me. Above all, I'm upset with you for letting her go like that. I don't know if any said what I am about to say, but if I were you, I will make public ridicule of her, create a scene and later on ensure the law take its full wrath on you. Because, while we remain grateful to God for the deliverance (not minding what the Atheists think or say), the event is no longer about you, but a whole lot of people that may fall victims to dare devils like this.

You should have made a news out of her, that way anyone with such intention or witchcraft will immediately bury it. But letting her, who knows how many will survive this
wicked, orchestrated plot in the future. Just my sincere opinion.

Be gfateful to God for his mercies. That woman will try that rubbish to someone else and cause the death of an innocent. You ought to have pressed charges not just walk away like that. Because whoever that gets unfortunate after this will not forgive you for not doing the right thing

Hmmn...Touching Story!!! Firstly, thank God! I don't want to sound Like a Crime Investigator but I smell a rat that try to catch you with lassa fever! But have you not thought it possible that your friend who gave you the 13k sent that lady to set you up because of mere envy! But that is if you told him about going to get your passport! because before any crime there's always an insider.think about this and leave Benin winches alone lipsrsealed
