In the recently released Google 2015 trends, a look at the entire year through the collective eyes of the world on the web, offering a unique perspective on the year’s major events and hottest trends based on searches conducted in Nigeria.

10. Chidinma



Chidinma Ekile (born 2 May 1991), popularly known by her stage name Chidinma, is a Nigerian singer-songwriter, recording artist and stage performer.

Chidinma won the “Best Female West African Act” category at 2012 Kora Awards. She toppled Omawumi and five others for the honour.

9. Don Jazzy



Michael Collins Ajereh (born 26 November 1982), better known as Don Jazzy, is a Nigerian multi award-winning record producer, singer-songwriter.

Don Jazzy is the future of most up and coming musicians in Nigeria as most of them dream to be signed unto his record label in order to record a breakthrough in their musical career.

Also on the Forbes’ list of richest musicians in Africa.


8. Timi Dakolo



Timi Dakolo (born; January 20, 1981) is a Nigerian singer. He emerged winner of the inaugural season of Idols West Africa in 2007, at the expense of the amazingly talented Omawumi Megbele. He is supertalented and has created a niche for himself in the industry.

7. Iyanya




Iyanya Onoyom Mbuk (born 31 October 1986), known by his mononym Iyanya, is a Nigerian recording artist and performer.

He is best known for winning the 2008 MTN Project Fame West Africa as well as for his song “Kukere”.
