I was amongst the best during catechism class for first holy communion and confirmation. A block rosary activist and spiritual father for persons during baptism.

All the above did not impart my destiny. A married man like me knows what he is saying :my wife is a cadet by virtue of the Father being a knight... But today, she knows better.... Christ death is so we can reign as priest and Kings and it requires the operation of the mystery to walk into the power realms.

My entire family are Catholics except myself.. And then my younger brother that I told to go to winners for sometime and see if he can find the words for his healing... He is a crazy winners, Today.


my mum called me, recently and after giving me what she thought were sound out I ask her told listen and I gave her scriptures and charge that she confess that my understanding is extraordinary.... She confessed that my words gave her insight that wasn't there and her faith welled up. She was supposed to minister to me but got it from me the way no father has eve told her.

If i was to ask...do you think that everyone that goes to your church each day gets the message of the pastor?
Do you think everyone goes there to listen?...so does that make his position as a pastor needless in imparting knowledge and understanding of the mystery of the kingdom

One can't tell what's in the mind of an individual. The person might just be in church just to fulfill all righteousness, dance to the drums, have fun, meet friends, get a few new digits and then head back home.

1 Peter 2:9 says..."But you are a chosen people, a royal priesthood, a holy nation, a people for God's own possession, to proclaim the virtues of Him who called you out of darkness into His marvelous light"

From my earlier description, what if a person's encounter with God was not through the pastor himself, but through other activities in the church, or with a member...does that make God's word any different
We all are called to be priests...filled with God's abundant grace to spread His word and not just waiting for the priest in church.

Take your everyday life for instance...there are people that you take an admiration to and want to listen to what they have to say regardless, and for some others, you might not seem interested at all, hence their words fall on deaf ears. Does that make the others less smart or less knowledgeable?...it's all about perception. The same way you might choose not to listen to the teacher in class, it's either you find the lecture boring or the teacher is not delivering the way you want it...or in ways you comprehend.

You said you were amongst the best in your catechism class for first holy communion and confirmation...i've been there, and that doesn't count for much...rather it's the heart that matters regarding your destiny. People looked up to me like i was well grounded in faith, but there were others more devoted to christian life than i was back then...and even though they were not doing well in class i wished i could emulate them in their ways cz i knew they were way better than me.
I remember a faith class in a protestant church in which they brought them all to the front of the church and gave prizes to just the 1st, 2nd and 3rd. I wondered what was the aim and purpose...cz i felt it might make others feel less of themselves...plus, what if the others were better than them in the practice of God's teachings?

Regarding being a spiritual father during baptism, do you have any idea what responsibility was entrusted to you?...you add to the life of that child and make an impact in his/her destiny...i had to learn, because i also am one. Not everything revolves around us and our lives, because we were called here on earth to serve others.

As for your wife and her father...the positions in church don't matter. we wouldn't take that to heaven. Each person is responsible for their life. I have heard of protestant pastors who have children living in the world...does that make the pastor or the congregation any less?

You talked about advising your younger brother going to winners for words for his healing. i don't know if you are talking about looking for "miracles" or "God's word"...whichever it is, the catholic church provides for that also if you understand much about the church.
PS: i'm not against any church, as i also have friends and family going to winners and even other denominations, and i even get invited for programs...but still, going there doesn't change who i am..."a crazy christian"

I wish i could give you numbers and you get the chance to meet and listen to other learned catholics i've met...they would give you that feeling that your mum felt...and then you come to understand their wealth of knowledge of the scriptures...and who do you think taught them??

Life is not just black and white...but there are grey areas. Each day i try to understand and learn more about myself and others also.

Bro, I want to be a true Christian in catholic church. But the Word there is weak. I got more conscious of building a relationship with God when I visited another church, just the preaching for that day gave me a serious rethink. I came back to my catholic church and I wasnt feeling it. I really want to get close to God in catholic not just observing catholic rituals and doctrines. Christianity is way deeper than that.

Yea... I v listened to some nice priests like Fr. Dibie. Buh then the parish priests are just vague abt the Word. You leave every sunday feeling empty. CBIU is a strong group. I ll study abt them a lil. Same with charismatics. But why cant I get this spirituality from the church, why church groups?

My brother I feel like you were very poorly cathechised. Please take no offence, I don't mean this as an insult because I was also very poorly cathechised. I however learnt more about the spiritual riches of the Catholic faith through my own studies online. The Catholic faith is not about the Priest and his sermons. The Catholic faith is about celebrating the Sacrifice of Christ, celebrating the Holy Body and Blood that Christ gave for us for our salvation. Holy Mass is not Sunday school or Protestant services where Bible verses are picked randomly and explained. Mass is the supreme act of worship to God and should therefore be taken to be completely different from the Bible lectures you hear from Pastors. I'm sure you know that a Priest can even celebrate Mass alone. Therefore when we go to Mass we are fed not the Priest's sermon…but the Holy Body and Blood of the Lord. Hope this helps.

It is difficult to find spiritual fulfillment in the Catholic Church? This is surprising considering the spiritual richness found in the Catholic Church. From the Liturgy of the Hours, the litanies, the devotions to the Blessed Virgin Mary, Benediction, Adoration, the prayers of the Saints, the liturgical seasons, the feast days etc. You can't find this anywhere else except in the Orthodox Churches.
