The beginning of a promising journey
One quarter of a century lived better
With hopes of the future looking merry

Experiences garnered, lessons learnt
Minds strengthened, bones revitalised
Lives touched, hearts broken, hopes rebuilt
Family appreciated, Friends discarded, foes created

Could time stop for a second while I swallow this reality in one breathe?
Can the minute hand be still for me to process this swift movement?
So happy that with each passing hour, brings forth an increase in strength
In denial of the impending reality, one holds on resentment

Reflections deep and mistakes corrected
Effects of the past begin to surface from shallow years
Ready or not, for the proximate adventure ahead
Striding strong without the will to face the fears

Lies expressed in denial of missing the former youth
Joyously embracing the gains of this beginning latter
Passionately blowing to the entire world my joys on a flute
Cos, the obvious reasons standing ahead do not matter

Waiting earnestly for the passing of the lucky star
For one last time would this fairy tale sustain me
One so dear to my heart, like a final prayer
The strength and resilience to hold on to my youth

Looking at twenty-five, never to stare behind
Planning for seventy five ahead and more with excitement
Building this rocks that provide me a stable mind
Hoping silently for an abundance of memorable moments
