Build from scratch. Reasons are; 1. The cost is cheaper 2. The building blocks to be used will be stronger hence makes the house last for a long time before renovation 3. Quality accessories/finishings will be used. 4. Full satisfaction and taste. 75 Likes 2 Shares |

It varies Depending on the location. It's cheaper to buy in most parts of the Niger Delta. I've spent some time in Ilorin, Ado-Ekiti and I'm currently resident in Ibadan, and I can say it's cheaper to build around the South West. 2 Likes 2 Shares |

Its more of an individual decision than one that could be ascertained through an opinion poll. Location, Budget, House Specs, Time, and several factors are what the person needs to consider. Personal opinion is i would most likely buy than build. 12 Likes 2 Shares |

Building your own house The big advantage of building your own house: You are much more likely to get exactly what you want. For many, this factor alone is enough to choose building over buying, but there are other advantages, too. "A new home is more efficient, especially with the new energy codes including better HVAC [heating, ventilation and cooling], insulation and air filtration standards,to your own taste. A new house may literally be better for you. "A new home is less likely to have the health concerns or toxic materials of an older home – things such as asbestos, lead paint, mold, Insects like cockroaches, ants, animals like gecko, rats(lassa) etc. Buying an Existing Home There are two primary advantages to buying an existing home: convenience and cost. Once you are pre-approved by your lender, you can shop around, pick out a home and make an offer. 5 Likes 2 Shares |

To me, you have not build a house if you buy it because you have not experience the sweetness and sadness of building a house from the scratch. 4 Likes |

Building a house saves money, it allows you put your desired designs into reality and most especially, you don't miss out on the fun! Where as Buying, It saves stress (Omo-nile wahala, govt wahala, etc) it saves time, if you are one working with time and need to move in quickly. It all depends on your Capital & patience level. 6 Likes |

SYLVESTER777: Building a house from the scratch yourself is good. You'll build to your taste, save cost but might be very stressful. Also, we don't know what they put inside foundations of already built house. To me, i go for the one you buy land and build yourself. 1 Like |

Buying one from a decent builder because you can see the finished product and can scrutinize it properly with professionals. Building it yourslef doesn't guarantee you won't be ripped off or that you'll get the quality you paid for. 10 Likes 2 Shares |
