Exodus 7:8-13
8 The Lord said to Moses and Aaron, 9 “When Pharaoh says to you, ‘Perform a miracle,’ then say to Aaron, ‘Take your staff and throw it down before Pharaoh,’ and it will become a snake.”

10 So Moses and Aaron went to Pharaoh and did just as the Lord commanded. Aaron threw his staff down in front of Pharaoh and his officials, and it became a snake. 11 Pharaoh then summoned wise men and sorcerers, and the Egyptian magicians also did the same things by their secret arts: 12 Each one threw down his staff and it became a snake. But Aaron’s staff swallowed up their staffs. 13 Yet Pharaoh’s heart became hard and he would not listen to them, just as the Lord had said.

God is a God of miracles-but we treat Him like a magician. People use magic to entertain and brainwash people for selfish interests or commercial purposes. Pharaoh had magicians in his palace for the main purpose of entertainment and amusement. Today, we have different magicians like kris angel, who use their magic powers to gather many followers via magic shows etc.

What is magic? Magic is the counterfeit of miracles by demonic powers. Satan tries to imitate God by performing his own miracles-called magic. A magician is someone who has entered a pact with the devil to perform magic with the help of demonic powers. The main purpose of magic is to deceive; satan lures people away from God through magic. Unfortunately today, we have a lot of magicians bewitching people of their hard earned money and possessions. Its so sad today that even some pastors are professional magicians deceiving many with their "miracles" and lead many blind folded away from God.

God doesn't perform miracles to hoodwink us-no! God performs miracles so we can have faith in Him. Miracles shouldn't be used be used as a commercial spree, but to make people renew their faith in God. This is why miracles often draws sinners en mass to God. The devil knows this and counterfeits God in performing magic to "win" His own souls too. This is why following magic and magicians can be very dangerous. Even if you watch magic acts out of curiousity, you can be subtily manipulated to follow satan.

Miracles are real-but magic aren't. They are counterfeit. Pharoah's magicians only tried to copy Aaron's miracle by turning their rods to snakes-but you know what? Aaron's snake swallowed their snakes. Miracles are by far superior to magic just as God is superior to satan. You can easily discern a magician when you don't sense the presence and peace of God with his or her magical acts. God give us the grace to seek His miracles and put to shame magic. Shalom.
