The 2016 Nissan Qashqai crossover SUV is the slight redesigned version of the 2015 Qashqai with minor tweaks in its interior and exterior. Nissan has also introduced the 2016 model vehicle with four engine options two each in diesel and gasoline models. The greatest pleasure that buyers would have is that they will be getting a low fuel consumption vehicle with their preferred engine.

The Nissan Qashqai is the family hatchback that thinks it's an SUV. That could have been a recipe for disaster but Nissan's engineers managed to blend the qualities of both vehicle types to produce a brilliantly well-rounded product.

The Qashqai serves up a high quality driving experience with low noise levels and ride comfort emerging as clear strengths. The handling isn’t the sharpest in the class but most owners won’t be too put out by that. Economy is good with the 74mpg 1.5-litre dCi rivalling the greenest family-sized cars around.

EXTERIOR

The designers of Nissan would not have too much labor to get the Qashqai prepared for the anywhere in the world. This is because it comes with the same exterior styling as that of the outgoing model, though it is somewhat sportier with more comprehensive body lines than the 2015 model. The new 2016 Nissan Qashqai is constructed on the CMF platform hat was found on the second generation of this vehicle model. However, the front fascia of the new vehicle is improved through fixing the redesigned LED headlights. The external charm of the new crossover is increased due to its 19-inch alloy wheels and the LED daytime running lights. Buyers who want to have smaller 16-inch and 17-inch alloy wheels would have pay extra for those wheels. The rear part of the vehicle emerges to be borrowed from the European crossover utility vehicle. The ride elevation does not appear to have altered either, which is at times the case between the United States and European crossover utility vehicles.

NEW NISSAN QASHQAI 2016 INTERIOR, REDESIGN

One thing’s for certain: the second-generation Nissan Qashqai looks far more upmarket than the original model. The overall shape is typical crossover, with a raised ride height, roof rails and black plastic trim giving a familiar rugged off-roader look.

Up front, the Nissan Qashqai features a sharp nose with angular headlamps and distinctive LED running lights, while the twin chrome bars on the grille add a touch of interest. At the back, the LED tail-lamps wrap around the corners of the car and on to the tailgate. The optional Ink Blue paint also really helps the Qashqai to stand out. On top-of-the-range Nissan Qashqai models, 19-inch wheels come as standard, while other models get 17-inch alloys.

Inside, the Nissan looks sharp and feels well built. There are sporty cowled dials and a full-colour trip computer display, while coloured ambient lighting on the centre console and gloss black trim on the dashboard give an upmarket feel.

The rest of the cabin is pretty smart too, and while the optional panoramic glass roof doesn’t open fully, it lets in plenty of light.

The Nissan Qashqai Acenta comes with decent levels of kit, including climate control, Bluetooth and automatic lights and wipers, front and rear parking sensors and a whole load of other safety gear, while sat-nav isn’t even an option.

The interior of the new Nissan Qashqai is same as that of the existing Rogue, but the automaker made some minor tweaks to make the cabin of the new vehicle more attractive than its predecessor. It comes with more cargo space, as well. Some of the standard interior and the safety features of the new crossover SUV include:

 Traffic sign detection.
 Track departure warning.
 Blind spot monitoring.
 Front crash prevention.
 Binary piston shock absorbers.
 Innovative power steering.
 Double zone automatic weather control.
 NissanConnect navigation and infotainment system.
 Satellite radio.
 Airbags.
 Anti-lock braking system.
 Back view camera.

NEW NISSAN QASHQAI ENGINE

The new Nissan Qashqai 2016 will be released with two diesel and two gasoline engines, according to the power requirements of buyers.
A turbocharged engine with the capacity of 1.2 liters would power the base model of the 2016 Qashqai with 115 HP power and 190 NM torque. ,the second petrol engine will be an Inline-4 engine with the capacity of 1.6 liters, will offer the new vehicle a power output of 161 hp and 177 pound-feet of torque. Through these engines, the new vehicle will consume 5.6 liters of petrol for every 100 km.

Elsewhere in the engine range Nissan offers a 128bhp 1.6-litre dCi diesel and a 1.6-litre DIG-T petrol. The 1.6 dCi and 1.2 DIG-T units are offered with a choice of the standard 6-speed manual gearbox or the Xtronic auto – a CVT that shifts smoothly and keeps engine noise down. The 1.6-litre DIG-T offers 161bhp and is the Qashqai’s quickest engine with a 0-62mpg time of 9.1s.

RELIABILITY AND SAFETY

Nissan Safety Shield technology gives the Qashqai an edge but the latest Driver Power results point to reliability and build quality issues.
The new Nissan Qashqai was marked down for reliability and build quality in our Driver Power customer satisfaction survey, but for overall customer satisfaction it ranked 21st out of 150 cars. Safety experts at Euro NCAP awarded the new Qashqai the full five stars, with the car scoring well in the adult and child occupant categories.

Nissan has improved things with its Safety Shield technology, which features heavily in the new Qashqai. It comprises clever features like front collision avoidance (autonomous braking), lane departure warning, drowsiness detection, blind spot warning and traffic sign recognition. There are even cameras to help you park and detect moving objects behind the car when you’re reversing – the Qashqai will park itself, too.

WARRANTY
All Nissans come with a three-year/100,000 kilometers warranty, which is about average for this class. If you want more cover, it’s worth remembering that the Hyundai Ix35 comes with a five-year warranty and the Kia Sportage has a seven-year warranty.

2016 NISSAN QASHQAI PRICE

Buyers can get their 2016 Nissan Qashqai with their preferred engine , by paying the starting price of N6,000,000.00
