Management of Wuse District Hospital, yesterday, locked the hospital and fumigated the premises, in what insiders considered a proactive measure to forestall rat invasion and occurrence of Lassa fever in the medical facility.
A medical doctor who spoke to Nigerian Pilot under anonymity yesterday however said the exercise was a normal yearly routine coinciding with the current rage of Lassa fever spreading across the country.
According to the doctor, all the patients in the hospital were referred to Maitama District Hospital, adding that last week, the same hospital was closed down for fumigation.
A notice signed by management and pasted on the gate of the hospital
