THE IDENTITY OF AN IJEBU-JESA INDIGENE! IJEBU OR IJESHA?

Many fabricated histories are out there to twist the memory and psyche of person(s) born or living in the present town called IJEBU-JESA. Therefore, it is important to give brief account of who the Authentic Son/s of Ijebu-Jesa is/were!

Good enough, this writer continue to state that he is an "Ijebu man", with complete Ijebu blood in his veins but not an Ijesha man. Is it really possible for a man not to know his real identity? Alas! "IJEBU" or "IJESHA".........

Alright, who is an IJEBU man? or who is an IJESHA man? Providence would make one to further research on his or her background.

Basically speaking an IJEBU man either in Osun or Ogun States is a Person that relates or connect to/with OBA AGIGIRI EGBOROGALUDA ONIDA HARANHARAN ADIMULA- the founder of Ijebu Empire; while OBA AJIBOGUN ADIMULA that died about 10 centuries ago at ILEMURE(now IBOKUN) is an Ijesha progenitor - note that OBA AJIBOGUN did not got to EBO community now called ILESHA.

Definitely, we all must realise that OWALUSE, the first Owa of Ilesha (from ERINMOKO now Erin-Ijesha and son of the female descendant of OBA Agigiri Adimula)...... OWA KI NDA NI PA KI ONIJEBU MA MO SI......old and subsisting adage.

Appraisingly, "ian k'egbon m'ogun, ian k'aburo m'ogbon" - Ijebu Ogun, Ijesha Ogbon; K'ogun se a ra m'ogbon l'ara .... ................................... ...........................................

Obviously, the research work carried out revealed the following facts:
(a.) That IJEBU ILE was joined for administrative convenience, with Ilesha by Colonial Masters in 1886; due to kingship tussle within IJEBU chiefs........
(b.) That Major WR Reeve Tucker, a Colonial Administrator of Ife Divisional Council between 1901- 1902; criminally changed the traditional identity and spiritual title of ""ONIJEBU'''' to Ogboni of Ijebu in 1902, on the advice of Owa of Ilesha then................
(c.) That in 1926 the ancient town's name (''IJEBU'') was added with an illegal name (Junior brother's name) to become "IJEBU IJESHA'' before it now turned to IJEBU-JESA.
