Charly Musonsa Jr might not be a household name outside Chelsea yet, but the 19 year-old is a bundle of talent that cannot be ignored. Originally from Zambia but born and breed in Belgium, Musonda Jr made a name when he scored in the FA Youth Cup (Final first leg) against Fulham in 2015 in a match Chelsea went on to lose. It was the same old story as he was the Man Of the Match in the second leg as the blues recorded a 7-6 aggregate win. While the buzz had not yet gone down, Musonda Jr added another wonder goal nine days later when he cancelled out Tom Lawfence's first goal for Manchester United in the Under-21 Premier League Final which Chelsea went on to win.

Musonda Jr is an attacking midfielder and arrived from Anderlecht with his two brothers Lamisha and Tika, and like the proverbial "Golden Fish" he had no hiding place as he was immediately identified as the most talented of the siblings. Highly rated scout Johan Boskamp had this to say about him "Charly Junior is the best of all, he always plays with his feet toward the goal and that is very special at such a young age". " He sees it as well . In his age, he is a mix of Xavi and Iniesta. He is still young then you should always wait for the next year, but this year he was phenomenal, even in the national minimum 15 year olds", he concluded . Musonda Jr just signed a new four year contract with Chelsea in 2015 before been sent on loan this winter to Real Betis who have gone 11 games without a win in La Liga and are languishing in 14t place. It is not only baffling but surprising that the Belgian is yet to handed a first professional appearance for the EPL defending champions. This is despite the fact that John Terry (34) still remains the last Chelsea player to have progressed from the clubs academy. The likes of Ryan Betrand (Southampton) and Patrick Bamford have either been discarded or sent on several loans which were successful to a degree.

Musonda Jr it was rumoured had a talk with interim boss Guus Hiddink before agreeing to become the 30th Chelsea player to be sent on loan this season. Known for his trickery skill and power , Musonda Jr is the son of Charly Musonda who made over 100 appearances for Anderlecht and won over 48 caps for Zambia. Musonda Jr was so good that he was fast tracked into Chelsea's U18 side after his stunning debut season for the U16 side . He can play on the wing or central midfield. He was rumoured to have had a training ground spat with Cesc Fabregas just before Christmas, after it emerged the former Arsenal Captain confronted him for flicking the ball over his head and nutmegging him in the process.

It emerged according to Foot Mercato, that Louis Van Gaal was ready to splash £10m plus to sign the highly rated attacking midfielder after he was impressed by the reports of the his scouts, who have been keeping an eye on the midfielder who have struggled to for first-team opportunities at the club. As an attacking midfielder , Musonda Jr has scored 2 goals in 5 games for the Belgium U21 team, also he dcided 8 goal in 14 games for U17, 3 goals in 5 games for U19 respectively . This season for Chelsea's U21, he has 3 assists and 1 goal in 10 games without being substituted on coming from the bench.

It remains to be seen what Musonda Jr will make of this opportunity to impress in La Liga given that the likes of Thaibut Courtois took his chance at Atletico Madrid when presented to him. Six months is a long time in football and the jury will be back for Musonda come May 2016, for now he still has to adjust his game a bit according to his father Charly Musonda Snr who said this about him: "He must play for the first team. He progresses every day but he must develop further. Technically, he's always been good but he still has much work to do on a physical and mental level . He's paying attention to this aspect of football", he concluded .

Sad that Chelsea don't have a good youth policy.
