Over the years most especially since the sudden discovery of oil in Nigeria, the largest black nation in the world has found herself in a serious mess due to this black sector discovery. Nigeria which was a leading force among prominent countries and contemporaries in exporting made in Nigeria agricultural and processed commodities like cocoa, cashew, cotton, groundnut, Shea butter, colanut, ginger and many more is now threatened with economic crisis due to her negligence to sustain the agribusiness sector. Nigeria is now on the brick of falling apart economically which is seriously affecting the socio-economic, political and financial growth of the country.

Agribusiness industry is depleting fast and something urgent must be put in place to rescue this ugly situation. The oil sector cannot continue to solely fund the Nigeria economy and the yearly budget again. The oil market is bad most especially in developing countries like Nigeria due to the downturn in global crude oil price. International price for crude oil is no longer stable, falling rapidly from $117 per barrel in early 2015 to a comatose price of between $28 and $32 currently.

The price instability is causing serious hardship to citizens and putting the federal government in bad political shape. Hence, there is a holistic need to quickly avert this ugly situation by diversifying the country economy from monopolistic market of importing crude-oil to agribusiness driven economy which has once being the mainstay of Nigeria economy. At agromerchant, we are poised to review and deliver the agriculture sector by promoting local content and locally grown food and farm produce in the following strategic ways;

1. Stopping importation and increasing exportation- it is awful that Nigerians import virtually everything and dump to a nation that has huge raw materials and natural resources. It is funny how we have advanced to be importing matches and toothpick. We must no longer ruin this naturally blessed country of the world. We want to frontier exportation of Nigeria local made rice, charcoal, cocoa (one of the best in the world), Shea butter, vegetables, cashew nuts, cotton, spices and other agricultural produce we grow to other countries. Both international and local partners are welcome to form a strategic synergy with agromerchant to tap into the numerous agro-produce in Nigeria. We have much more to export.

2. Annex the full potential of local content and agricultural produce through ICT- Information and communication technology is a viable and virile tool to hastily position Nigeria in the world map to showcase her full agriculture and food potential. We have developed massive networks with rural, local and even new emerging farmers and agropreneurs to produce more so that we can have abundant to market and supply to users and consumers.

3. Opening and creating viable markets and supply chain technology through ecommerce- www.agromerchant.com has pledge her commitment to drive the agribusiness sector in an innovative way by creating an online shopping marketplace to sell, supply and deliver to buyers and shoppers at their doorstep various agricultural commodities from fresh farm food, sea foods, wood products, livestock, fresh and organically grown vegetable and fruits, hybrid seeds and seedlings to agrochemicals and organic fertilizers.
We are committed to this lofty cause and we are aligning our loyalty with the Nigeria government to take agro sector to the top notch. Local agro and food producers and farmers should work assiduously with agro processors, marketers, suppliers and haulage to creatively drive this sector and build a stronger network.

Nigeria is richly blessed with huge resources. Join your working hands and creative minds with us to build a working agricultural sector. Agromerchant create the agro and foodstuff market and deliver foodstuff, fresh farm produce and agro commodities.

Start preparing for the next planting season. The more we plant, the more we produce and export leftovers.

One business that will make sense this year is agribusiness if you can key to it early.
