Good morning nairalanders and happy Lenten period.
Today marks the beginning of lent period to Catholics and Anglicans worldwide and it also starts with ash Wednesday.
It is expected that every Catholic and Anglican go to the church and receive the sign of the cross on the fore head which is drawn with an ash just like my pix below.
Today, every catholic member in the world is not suppose to abstain from any type of meat.
Now am confused, my question is,
(1) Since we abstain from meat today, can someone eat a meal that is been prepared with meat without eating the meat?
(2) is it a sin for one to drink any diary product such as milk or yogurt since it is a meat product?
(3) can one eat egg today since it is a direct product from chicken?

U can freely eat egg and all other diary products like milk as dis does not in any way represent meat.

As for any meal cooked with meat. It's better to just temporarily abstain

yap skin of cow is meat and the abstinence is just for today but u can keep fasting till easter. it pays
