Laila's blog (currently in a maintenance mod), one of Nigeria’s most visited entertainment blog website engaging content to over 3 millions of Nigerians having a wide-reaching audience of readers in Ghana, India, Finland, United States, United Kingdom, Canada and some other populous countries like China and Indonesia.

We're seeking for full-time reporters (probably men and ladies aged b/t 23 - 35yrs) to cover breaking entertainment news, trends, issues and political news as well as to blog.

The candidates should have 1-3 years experience
covering a major entertainment news and have sufficient reporting muscle to be able to write deep
enterprise as well as breaking news and have a knack for opinion blogging style and for all forms of social media interaction. These reporters may also be assigned to cover recruiting.

Primary Responsibilities:

The applicants for this job must be:

- Able to provide must-reads for our audience,
- Able to generate unique content,
- Able to engage and grow audience via social media outlets including Facebook, Twitter, Pinterest, etc
- Able to recognize breaking news and trends related to Laila's Blog and originate ideas for content,

- Able to have a keen awareness of issues and topics
people are talking about and takes a strong stand in his/her writing.
- Able to engage and embrace the community through frequent posts online,
- Able to understand the unique properties of a blog and digital audience and uses those to their
advantage to build a loyal community of readers,
- Able to write clearly and authoritatively with sophistication, absolute accuracy and balance,
- Able to write cleanly and quickly off news events with little or no editing required for blog posts and short stories,
- Able to demonstrate strong research skills, including knowledge of digital search tools and techniques,
- Able to manage time effectively,
- Able to collaborates effectively with others,
- Able to communicate and work effectively with a team of reporters,
-Able to produce and publish smartphone photos and videos,
- Able to understand state and federal laws,
- Able to understand legal notices, privacy, copyright or other issues.
Candidates must be computer literate; must have either PC or a high end smart phone.

Requirements:

Candidates must have one to two years or more of reporting experience, able to demonstrate strong news judgment, able to create content to meet audience needs, strong ability to organize, analyze, interpret and disseminate information and excellent communication, presentation skills, both verbal and written and keep up to date with the current topics and
trends in publishing on social media websites, mainly Twitter, Instagram, Facebook and Pinterest.
