One of the flimsy reasons muslims attack the Bible is the many versions it has. All Bible versions are saying the same thing in diverse statements. The original message remains intact.

The same cannot be said for the quran. Different translators are giving different meanings to the same Arabic text and so when you quote quranic verses to support your points, muslims would jump out to quote another translation that says something totally different on the same verse as if it is not from the same quran.

The quran is already full of contradictions as allah kept replacing his revelations with what he called better ones, as if he was making mistakes earlier (Quran 2;106). The quranic translators do not help matters as they are just interpreting the arabic text to mean what they want it to mean.

Examples 1.

Quran 2:106 Shakir] Whatever communications We abrogate or cause to be forgotten, We bring one better than it or like it. Do you not know that Allah has power over all things?

[Quran 2:106 Yusufali] None of Our revelations do We abrogate or cause to be forgotten, but We substitute something better or similar: Knowest thou not that Allah Hath power over all things?

Firstly, allahh was replacing or substituting revelations, making the whole quran a total contradiction. Again, Shakir translation says ''Whatever revelation (communications) We ABROGATE OR CAUSE TO BE FORGOTTEN..... This is admitting that allah did abrogate and cause some revelations to be forgotten. While Yusufali translation denies that allah did abrogate and cause to be forgotten. It says ''none of our revelation do we abrogate or cause to be forgotten.


Example 2.

[Quran 48:2 Shakir] That Allah may forgive your COMMUNITY their past faults and those to follow and complete His favor to you and keep you on a right way,

[Quran 48:2 Yusufali] That Allah may forgive THEE thy faults of the past and those to follow; fulfil His favour to thee; and guide thee on the Straight Way;

Shakir translation says allah was to forgive COMMUNITY their faults while Yusuali says no, Allah was to forgive Muhammad's own fault.

Example 3.

[Quran 2:158 Shakir] Surely the Safa and the Marwa are among the signs appointed by Allah; so whoever makes a pilgrimage to the House or pays a visit (to it), there is no blame on him if he goes round them both; and whoever does good spontaneously, then surely Allah is Grateful, Knowing.

[Quran 2:158 Pickthal] Lo! (the mountains) As-Safa and Al-Marwah are among the indications of Allah. It is therefore no sin for him who is on pilgrimage to the House (of Allah) or visiteth it, to go around them (AS THE PAGAN CUSTOM IS). And he who doeth good of his own accord, (for him) lo! Allah is Responsive, Aware.

Shakir translation omitted ''AS THE PAGAN CUSTOM IS''
