Some say I am of Paul, Others say I am for Peter
Whose is Jude?
...before night falls
The weather was clement and inviting so were the people. Foreigners bought tickets ahead of trip to enjoy the comforts her natural estates offered. The plateaus personalised human guides beckoning on tourists to walk their talk.
it was a place where the temperate married the tropic. You are assured of climatic variations that will make your stay appealing. It was a near perfect environment for peace loving people with a crave for natural aesthetics.
Jos, the darling of all, nipped strategically by nature in between states, gave us stars many of whom took her glory beyond her nose. Music was the soul of Jos, plateau state, Nigeria. Stars literally walked the streets of Jos and soul inspiring songs were the dust of their honorable feet. Of all the stars churned out, two towered above others. They led an army of musical newbies, rookies of sort, covetous of freebies of fame Lagos offered.
Their dance steps wowed all. Their stage displays awed their fans. These two brought entertainment to people with far reaching excitement. As a musical group, they were loved beyond the shores of Nigeria. Some worshipped them, others followed religiously. The glory was greater than their status. But they managed it excellently, excelling where others failed.
Plantashaun Boys, Junior and Pretty, Remedies, Bracket, KcPresh, Mandators, Emphasis, Trybesmen, Lagbaja, Infinity, X Appeal, Artquake, Mo' Hits and a lot more musical groups held the entertainment industry spellbound with fruitful years of inspirational songs, captivating lyrics and jaw dropping stage performances. All dictated the musical trends at different times of our entertainment history. But sadly, they fell apart almost at the same pace they bonded. Some had dramatic twists to the breakaways, a lot, washed away by the tides of lust for fame and name independent of others.
Characteristic of their beginning, they fraternised against the odds angling for their seperation. Decades passed, the love remained and waxed stronger. Even when family ties were stretched, they held on committedly. When their mother, their unifying factor, passed away, they were tested beyond measure, but stood fast.
Sadly, the times we are such that they are pressed on all sides, issues of failed leadership and arrogant followership, stands against their union, knot of love stranding out. The eldest of these brothers, their manager, at the centre of it, had the support of one of the two to the chagrin of the other. Unusual fans enjoying the fun of this furore, harped on their differences and uniqueness. They spurred them on to the admiration of their detractors.
As the last surviving group on the Nigerian musical scene, history beckons on us . We must save this wonderful, awe inspiring group before they go into extinction. Let us help them out by encouraging love and unity and not calculated side talks which will cast a dark cloud over the joys they ever gave us.
