Birthday is one of those many memorable days you step on the brake-light to re-evaluate values (Character, principles, wit and thoughts) of a particular life by bringing the past and the presence on the scale of "what is right" in a bit to either improve these values or change them ahead of series of both fortunate n unfortunate event inevitably bound to come along the way (in future). People's opinion (or idea) about an individual directly or indirectly tends to stimulate the need to re-evaluate a particular life, however, absolute care should be taken in the course of altering these values that defines the life of an individual in the name of satisfying the taste of other people's opinion. Some people's ideology are sometimes stimulated by events you would have seen totally different from your own point of view. That doesn't make them wrong, neither you, it instead draw us to the realization of the seriousness of the fact that human kind have the mental capacity to see one same thing "differently". As simple as this may appear to be comprehensible, this tendency of contrasting opinions becomes difficult for most humans to deal with, as a result leads to what is called "Argument". No doubt about it, argument sometimes is ok, but in some cases, what actually give rise to the argument is usually "Clash of superiority", if I should throw more light into it, I will say "Clash of arrogance". This sometimes have nothing to do with age or gender. Interestingly, this issue is not limited to this same humans alone but even between human and it's Creator (God). You have situations where some particular occurrence become so difficult to bear that you start asking God too many "Why", all because you feel you have a contrasting opinion or feel you know better. This sometimes becomes so difficult even for many so much that it drives them to the point of questioning or doubting the supreme knowledge and understanding of God (Consciously or its opposite). If man can come to this conclusion even before God, how much more it's "subjects"?. In God's case, He's always right!
It's indisputable that humans, most especially, modern humans are arrogant and few that are not, are "potentially" arrogant. Sadly it is difficult most times to realize this primordial mentality deeply buried inside us because it is highly spontaneous rather than voluntary.
Most humans believes "too" much on their own ideology that any other opinion is consider a threat rather than embracing diversity in thought-process. Believing in one's idea or opinion isn't a problem literally, but the moment one starts to see one's self ideas or opinions to be the "only" acceptable ones above any other, it becomes a problem (arrogance) and like I said earlier, it's an "unconscious" (spontaneous) act, therefore difficult to notice. As passionate as football is being cherish largely around the world, you still have people who in their own words ask questions like "I wonder what sort of pleasure is derived in watching fully grown-up adults chasing an air-filled round-shaped leather all around the field".(Surprised?. I've heard it). You wouldn't believe how this person was attacked with contradictory opinions same way I know some of us will do. Don't get it wrong, some people like both watching and even playing football, but does that mean those with contradictory opinion should be treated as "Inferiors"?. Likewise when you turn the table-around, this person in question may have sweet opinion that may appear quite "sour" to the football lovers. This doesn't make both side wrong, but rather creates atmosphere to see diversity in thought-process. But in most cases, issues like these are treated with utmost contempt by the arrogant ones.
Don't be intimidated or coerced into accepting opposing ideas which are stimulated by arrogance or zero-tolerance for diversity in thought-process, but rather carefully awake your "wit" and "conscience" to choose and do "what is right", not most necessarily because "they say so", but rather because "You think so". It is imperative to learn but not by arrogantly stimulated thought but by carefully guided opinion devoid of "mad" obsession for superiority. In the quest to gain a balance, question like "Couldn't you be wrong?" becomes "inevitable", but here's a question, couldn't they be wrong either??. Be open to correction, but hope for two things, first that it's not arrogantly guided opinion and secondly that the opinion is not stimulated by incident you would have seen totally differently from your own point of view.
Be mindful of the opinion you make for yourself, the ones you give or share with others and the ones you take from others. You have no idea how important you are and how important you will be.
Best Regards!
