Mikel is the latest Chelsea player to be targeted for
transfer by wealthy clubs in the Chinese Super
League.

Ramires joined Jiangsu Suning for £25m in January,
while Oscar and Radamel Falcao have also been
subject of offers this year, which were rejected by
the club and player respectively.

It is understood that at least three teams are
looking into the possibility of buying Mikel,
including Jiangsu and Shanghai SIPG, who have
former England coach Sven Goran Eriksen as
manager.

The Nigeria international's current contract at
Chelsea has just over a year left to run and the club
are prepared to give him an extension.

However, Mikel, who has been at Stamford Bridge
for a decade, is going to take time to weigh up his
options.

He is currently paid in excess of £70,000-a-week,
but can earn far more if he makes the switch to the
Far East.

The 28-year-old has enjoyed a renaissance under
interim manager Guus Hiddink having become a
fringe member of the squad under Jose Mourinho.

He has been left out only three times since the
Dutchman took over in December and the
midfielder's return has been welcomed by many of
the fans.

But his starting position is likely to come under
threat once again when the next permanent coach,
Antonio Conte, arrives.

Conte has already handed a lengthy list of players
to the Chelsea hierarchy that he wants to sign,
many of whom are midfielders, including Paul
Pogba, Arturo Vidal, Radja Nainggolan and Miralem
Pjanic.

Chelsea are also hoping Conte will start to play 20-
year-old Academy graduate Ruben Loftus-Cheek a
lot more.

Mikel is now Chelsea's second longest-serving
player behind captain John Terry, who is set to
leave at the end of the campaign, in the current
squad.

He has won 10 major trophies, including the
Champions League and two Premier League titles.
