Alexina by invincible4(m): 12:36pm On Mar 23, 2016 |
Hi guys! I'm kind of new here and wish to start a story. Your views and comments would be a great motivation. Thanks. About the story: Alexina, a younglady existed in the time of magic, a period when infiltrating christianity had no stronghold. The era of empires and emperors, kings and kingdoms, knights and templars. Vinceville was ruled by Great emperor Aurelius II. A heartless heathen who believed leadership was all about greed and tyranny. His subjects suffered a great deal, no one dared complain. He, however wasn't the god's chosen. Alexina's destiny was to find the chosen one, overthrow Aurelius and let the chosen rule. She was a skillful fighter, sword manipulation was her hobby, though she possessed no magical powers. Her skills alone weren't enough to bring down Aurelius vast army and ocean of sorcerers |

PROLOGUE
It was a dark cold night in
vinceville, the capital city
of Brynophia empire. The
city was generally busy in
early hours but deserted at
nights owing to cold and
activities of
‘underworld bandits’ as
they were called.
Few people walked down
the streets, some on
horses while others
trekked.
Chirps of birds nucturnal
birds disturbed the serene
night.
Fransesca finished
preparing dinner, she’d
dished out the meal in
white floral ceremic plates
before placing them in a
steel tray. The woman
walked to a fairly large
room, serving as their
living room.
An old man with a mix of
grey hair sat on a
woodened stool, he held a
vulture’s feather, dipped it
in a thick black liquid and
continued sketching.
Magnum was a blacksmith,
his irons were already in a
furnance, before the crack
of down they would be soft
enough to be hammered
into swords. He rose his
head gently, a warm smile
graced his face. His wife
was hardworking and
beautiful, he’d won her in
a contest organized by her
father. She was the most
valuable gift the gods gave
him.
Francesca blushed, she
broke the eye contact then
kept the tray on an oak-
hand-carved table, easing
off its content.
“dinner is ready”
Magnum nodded twice.
“you worked hard. Call the
children lets eat”
“yes my husband” the old
lady walked to an
adjoining room, she stood
at the doorpost. Peeping.
“ociel, Alexina! Dinner is….”
she was distracted by
rustling sounds from
behind. Curiousity got the
best of her. She turned to
see a sword pointed to
her. Her assailant’s face
was masked.
“move!” he ordered,
motioning his sword to her
left. Francesca was scared,
she muttered incoherent
words as she walked in
front of him. She gasped,
seeing Magnum tied to a
chair.
“who are you!” the woman
inquired weakly. She got a
hot slap for reply.
Francesca fell to the floor.
“search the whole house”
commanded a man who
plausibly was the gang
leader.
Three men dispersed to
different directions. Their
swords were unsheated.
Frank searched a small
room. A fruitless search it
was! He meant to step out
but halted upon hearing a
whimper.
Ociel instantly placed a
finger on Alexina’s lip. She
was vibrating under a
mahogany bed. Especially
when Frank walked
towards their direction.
She felt he had seen and
was coming for them.
Frank heard another
sound, he traced it to the
bedpost. The young
assassin shifted his torch
towards the sound. A K---y
came into view. He hissed
loudly exiting in
annoyance.
His fellow assassins were
already with their leader
by the time he got there.
“did you find any?” asked
sylvius, the leader, with a
glint of hope.
Frank shoke his head.
“where are your
children!!!” sylvius
thundered.
Magnum smiled, he
succeeded in untieing his
hands.
Sylvius flared up. The old
man’s smile irritated him.
He unsheathed his sword,
pointing its tip to
Magnum’s jaw.
“do you want to die, old
man?”
Magnum pressed his legs
hard against the floor, in a
quick jab he back flipped.
Stricking sylvius jaw in the
process. The latter fell but
quickly got up.
Magnum untied his feet
swiftly.
Sylvius tweaked his glove
clad fingers.
Frank got the message, he
struck Magum in the
stomach, with his sword.
“lets get out of here”
sylvius ordered.
“what about the woman?”
Frank asked, pointing to
Francesca.
“obey your superior!” their
leader thundered. The two
other assassins kept quiet,
if Frank could be scolded
who were they?
While at the door, Sylvius
turned, he withdrew an
arrow from his sling bag.
With a perfect aim he sent
it into Francesca’s heart.
He hopped on his waiting
black horse, the horse
made sounds as he struck
it to run faster.
His mission was
accomplished, he was paid
to finish off Magnum’s
household.
Alexina and her brother
got out from their hideout,
realising the men had left.
The two wept bitterly,
wailing and screaming in
agony. They lost their
parents in a day, within an
hour! This day a fate was
changed and destiny
thwarted. The soft heart in
Alexina revolved into a
heart of fierce lion. The
incident completely
changed her. |

EPISODE 1
the atmosphere was
gloomy and hazy, cold air
moved without
obstruction. It was dawn,
understandably there was
no human figure on the
street. Everyone should
probably be asleep, except
sir Donna, he was waken
by the first rooster crow.
He yawned twice then rose
from a palm-knitted-mat.
Sir donna was one of
vinceville’s finest; a leader
of ‘in-palace-knights’ he
looked left to right, his
fellow knights were still
asleep, he ignored them,
strode far north of the
room, dipped his hand in a
bowl of water and washed
his face. Sir Donna wasn’t
only a knight, he was
extremely handsome,
every lady wished him for
theirselves. Prince Galileo’s
girlfriend wasn’t
exceptional, she’d
shameless tried seducing
him twice, the prince
caught them on one of
these occasions, of course
he’d painted the image
black. Sir donna almost got
executed even a broken
clock is right twice a day!
Donna escaped trial.
The young knight smiled at
those memories, prince
Galileo was really
laughable. He wiped his
face with his palms then
staggared sleepily to the
rack where knights’ swords
and body armours were
kept. It wasn’t a long
search before he
pinpointed his armour
which he quickly wore,
picked his sword and
slipped it into the leather
sheath hung around his
waist.
Sir donna carefully closed
the door behind him.
He moved swiftily but
stealthily to the middle of
the castle, where royal
prison was situated. He’d
studied the castle’ map for
several days, he knew it
like the back of his hands,
much to his advantage!
The knight’s heart beat
increased as he
approached the prison
section. It was time to
execute his plans, he must
be brave about it. He stood
still for several seconds,
heaved a sigh and
continued moving. The
palace was kept bright and
alive with oiled
candelebras. He made sure
he walked in shadows.
He finally got to the prison
section. He took cover
behind a rock piller.
Peeping, he saw a guard
patrolling the royal prison.
“isn’t it a little too early”
he whispered rhetorically.
Sir Donna dipped a hand in
his coat, luckily he found a
bronze coin which he
tossed. The coin rolled on
the floor, attracting the
guard’s attention.
Donna slipped into the
prison department
properly when the guard
foolishly chased a rolling
coin.
Another guard sat on a
stone, his head resting on
the wall, he was fast
asleep. Donna’s gaze fell
on a bunch of keys tied to
his waist belt. The knight
squated before him, he
was carefully loosing the
keys when suddenly the
guard slapped himself.
Perhaps mosquitoe
invasion!
Donna succeeded in
untieing the bunch, he held
it firmly, heading to a
prison room which had ‘IV’
written atop it.
An old man with long curly
brown hair sat on the floor.
It was heard on the
grapevine that he was
above 80, yet his hair had
no spark of grey. It was
also rumoured that his
magic sustained this feat.
Corlenius was a magician,
as a matter of fact the
most powerful sorcerer in
the empire. He heard the
prison door open, he fell
softly, closing his eyes
feigning sleep.
Donna stepped into the
prison boldly. Somehow he
wasn’t scared of meeting
Corlenius. He’d heard
legends about that man.
The old man laid on the
floor, the chain used in
cuffing him was loosed. No
wonder he was called
Corlenius the great. Donna
wondered why someone
so powerful would submit
himself to be captured. He
squated before corlenuis,
tapping him gently.
Corlenius ‘woke’ up, he let
out a fake yawn
“what do you want?”
“my lord, i came to get you
out of here” Donna replied
boldly.
Corlenius chuckled.
“you came to what? Do
you know the weight of
your plan?”
“yes sir. I’m a knight, my
duty is to protect the
empire. What the emperor
is doing isn’t right! Why
should he order execution
of all sorcerers?! Please
you must come with me,
your execution is
scheduled for the seventh
hour of today.”
corlenius nodded slowly.
He got up rapidly and
helped Donna up.
“thank you boy. Lets go”
suddenly they hear a hight
pitched sound. The palace
bell was rang once,
indicating it was second
rooster crow.
Donna led corlenius
through short cuts, soon
they were outside the
castle.
The bell rang again, this
time twice.
Corlenius and donna
exchanged glances, it only
happens when there was
an emergency in the
castle.
” someones knows about
me escape” corlenius
suggested.
“halt! Do you think you can
get away?” a familiar voice
ranted from behind.
Donna swallowed hard,
without verifying he knew
it was a fellow Knight.
Corlenius turned quickly.
He stretched a hand
towards the intruder, his
eyes blazed rapidly.
At the drop of a hat the
knight fell down. Donna
was gobsmacked.
“did you kill him?”
“he would be up soon.
Thanks again, you must go
now, the soldies are
alerted.”
with that he hopped on a
horse previously provided
by Donna.
He rode through a thick |
