Good day readers or night as the case may be. Have you ever dreamt really wild? Maybe as wild as getting away from everyone and starting your own life somewhere in a jungle? Hey, lets not make this too weird. Let's assume your boat crashes somewhere in the middle of the pacific and you are all alone. What to do? Before i start up, this is not a movie and don't think things would always go on as planned.
That said, lets ride. Before hand, we hope your island is almost as big as a local government, your topography with hard rocks, ecology relationship with wild animals, trees that are food productive, tall trees with medium sized branches (2 inches in diameter). If not, repent of your sins and prepare to meet the old man you despised for his provocative messaging. That aside, knowing you are human (or aren't you?), you do not need too much luck to survive the wild. You might not have the 2 inches branched tree and the fruit producing tree and yet survive (though i don't yet know how that is possible).
Immediately you crashed, let's assume u passed out (even tho that's hard to think of naija people). You wake up confused and suprised. Walked up and down the beach and you hear a sound under you 'grrruuum'. Yep, it was your stomach so you have to eat something. That's when your eyes spot the coconut on the tree. After cracking and eating, you find the sun on the west of the world. Evening calls!! But don't panic. Just find that 2 inch branched tree. Climb on it (you will know how to climb when u hear a foul cry) and sleep. You might want to tie your belt around it when u have bad bed manners (hehehe got meself).
Wake up next morning and look out for fruits SAFELY. Gather enough under your choice tree and you've got a new home. Then, heap stones around them for protection against raiders. That's too much for one day so you have your rest.
You wake up next day and if you are lucky, it's your first time of seeing a wild animal on the island. Let's call it a wild pig. It sniffs around and then walks away into the jungle. Now you know you need a weapon to survive. Quickly now, get down that tree and find a sharp stone in a rocky area. Can't find one? Try to hit a bigger one on a smaller to create a diamond shaped stone. I mean one with a flat base and a very sharp tip. Good, find some creeping plants and slender long rope like growth. Find also a long thin stick. Fit for a spear, cos that what we are about doing. Tie the stone to the stick to make it straight enough. Good, now we have a spear. For the rest of the day, practice shootin the spear because you have enough food under the home tree. Practice shooting on trees which can be 6 meters away from you and make sure the spear gets stuck on the tree at the aimed spot. Done that? Go to sleep and dream of tomorrow.
Day four. How was the night? Cold huh? Well, it's going to be that way until you have a roof over your head and walls around you. But for today, build more spears. At least 20 of them and make sure you don't run out of food. That's all for today. Tomorrow, we go hunting. Get your mind prepared.
Day 5. Spartan! What is your profession?! Awhoo! (hunter i mean). Congratulations you have now become a hunter (in the making i mean). Go now, we eat meat today, follow the track of the animal and kill it. Try not to make sense your presence. Make sure you take about 6 spears. Aim and fire the beast. Down it goes in a pool of blood. Pick it up and take it to the sea shore. Wash the carcas clean off blood. Dont cut the skin in bits for kpomo. U'll regret it. Just skin the animal clean and dry the skin on another tree close to the home branch....
