The wing is easily locked up. Modern approach has made such a style so so outdated. Nowadays, if the fullbacks aren't getting opened space by midfield play to run in, it's nothing valuable to the team. We missed Ndidi definitely. I also noticed the lockdowns once the wingers received a pass. They just can't move. Nobody is opening up any space, so they pass right back to the defenders. How is AE seeing this repeatedly and not exasperated??

What I could read from the game is Eguavoen not bending from his principles. He needs to adjust to a more modern approach.

It is time to build our team on strictly a passing philosophy.

Hey Charlie get out of here. You don shift your mind to Abuja after you don make all sorts of noise. Na now you dey remember Cape Verde. Score one goal for your house you no fit score.

Watching nigeria play cape verde and central africa republic in nigeria tells me that nigerian team is not so solid at home... Pressure will be on the nigerians to deliver, imagine if ghana gets first ?

You should worry about your Ghanaian team. You are terrible both home and away. Your entire strikeforce have less goals than Osimhen, how una wan score us in Abuja?

This one no be principle again o. It's just Stubbornness!

You're right on the passing. We can't be at the grand stage and the most basic quality of any team, Which is passing, is alien to the GWG. That would be horrible to watch.

AE just gave top applause to GR. We can't hide such observations no more. GR was better.

Chukwueze has really regressed. Is he injured or has lost confidence?

That's how he plays for Nigeria.. he is playing safe so that he doesn't get injured so that he can return to his villar:eal duties..

He hasn't regressed per se.. grin grin

Despite the fact that Uzoho has been sitting on the bench at his club grin, you can see some confidence there. You cannot teach that.

He has a World Cup tournament under his belt. He's been in those situations

Bring back Rohr abeg. Wing football don tire me. Play a blocking middle man, place another box to box person beside him allowing my Aribo or any other person who can play 10 enjoy free role as attacking midfielder to link our defense with attack simple math. Osimehn just dey run dey suffer for front. They will clip your wing you still want to manage the wing. Mtcheww

Another solid Observation

Osimhen can never thrive in the GWG as lone striker. It's still this stupid formation though. Nacho is supposed to be an Ideye to Osimhen's Emenike. But barely did they even exchange passes in Kumasi tonight, talk more sleekness.

It's not about home or away. We may have gotten the same results at home too.

But remember that this Nigerian team plays better in return legs than the first leg. Check our stats. Now add it to the fact that we are home. What do you think?

Either way, Iheanacho's pass to Simon was pure brilliance. Sad Simon did not take the chance.

Onyeka and etebo in midfield won my heart today. Both did well when subbed in and etebo didn’t show any sign of rustiness

I will love to see etebo and Onyeka at a pivot then aribo as a 10 in the return leg.

Bassey also showed good strength and agility on one on one situation. Very stron and difficult to shrug off the ball

Decent game I will say by the team
