Egypta defense looks stubborn. Uruguay's trying to find an opening. I hope the Uruguayans win.
Strange. Uruguay isn't a likeable team. They have Suarez FFS. And Egypt is Africa, yes Arabian Africans, but they are still Africa. grin

True, Uruguay will be in some trouble if Egypt scores first. because these Egyptians kinda know how to lock up after one goal too and see off the game in a drab manner.

But then, don't underrate the quality of that Uruguayan attack. They sure know how to hit back if they keep at it.

lexyman:

they are far better ... if they score before Uruguay ... Uruguay will be in serious trouble

if these pharoahs fit attack through the middle.... the might have a chance....

their wings no dey work... maybe playing with false wingers might just change the game....

uruguay don dey dominate the midfield small small.... a goal would be disastrous for the pharaohs....

50-50 so far. You can see that Cuper got his tactics spot on. Totally neutralised the threat of Suarez and Cavani. Egypt just lacking the individual quality to break down Uruguay at the other end.

Hugely missing Salah.

I have love for the Super Eagles. But I have to choose where my faith really lies when there is a conflict. Once again I say Marcus will fail in this WC.

Mujtahida:

lie lie. he will not fail. nigeria must reach semi-final

Salah looking all calm as he watched proceedings in the first half....

Meanwhile the Egyptian fans await the entrance of their main man in the second half, if the coach decides that is...

Then that Suarez miss... Ouuuchh

Super Eagles can take a clue or two from this Egyptian defence. Once their midfielders lose the ball, they track back immediately.

They can pray but they should concentrate on actually playing the match and not lose focus.

Hope we can now see there is a big difference between a friendly and a tournament. Everyone expected Egypt to roll over and die cause of the Godin's, Suarez's and Cavani's of this world. Egypt is in Tournament mode.

I think they are giving Uruguay too much respect. If I were Hector Cuper, I would go all frontal and attack this Uruguay defense, let's see how they'd hold up. After all, this is Uruguay we're talking about not Brazil or Germany.

princfred:
My brother no be their fault Uruguay good. Egyptian defensive setup is holding well for now but who knows for how long. After Uruguay collect midfield Egypt switch to defend and counter mode.

They still have to be cautious as Uruguay has a decent frontline. This is not a do or die match

Egypt has impressed so far, say what you want

They just lack a cutting edge up front, but they have neutralised Cavani and Suarez. Their defending is also top notch. Notice how well they have dealt with corners, save that Suarez miss

check the line of Egypt , the came with majorly midfielders only 2 strikers . original game plan of Cuper is holding to the ball ... it will be rear for Egypy to score above 2 goals and you will not score them above 2 through out this competition grin grin grin

"Focus" has been the most overused word in the last few days on this thread... I guess the Super Eagles are there to pick bananas naa abi... I can imagine that we here are even more focused on the game than they are...

Uruguay's midfield is the problem. 4-4-2 is too disjointed. Lack of pace an issue as well. Egypt just needs to get a goal now

Egyptians need forwards that can use footwork to wriggle their way out of one on one situatIons and create clear chances
