Why are u guys making up conspiracy theories? The man clearly gave his reasons for retirement.

I am not the one that brought up AFCON but it is related to Moses' reason for retirement.

Moses said he wants to focus on his club and family meaning he does not want the distraction of national team assignments of which AFCON is included.

There is no age issue with Moses. He left Nigeria at a very young age, played for English youth teams.

27 is a very young age to retire. He is probably at his peak.

U cant be so sure bro. We all know how he circumvented the rules to land in the UK as a refugee. People still believe his cock and bull story concerning his parents while, they are down there in Edo hale and hearty.

Moses was a BJ foundation old boy remember.

If he could lie to get to the UK, it's also possible he aint presenting his true age. Anything to leave this hell called Nigeria.

BTW, dude doesn't look anything less than 30

What else can he achieve with the super eagles? We all know he would have been forced out if he had stayed too long so it is best to quit while on top.

He was emerging as one of the leaders of the team. He is young and could have served for 4 more years at least.

If the drive is no longer there, then it is best if he retires.

In other news, I heard that the former President of National association of Nigerian footballers, Harrison Jalla as well as former Vice-President of the NFF, Victor Baribote are calling on the Acting president to "obey the law of the land" and withdraw the DSS from the Glass house. They are obviously rooting for Chris Giwa.

Which way, Nigeria?

Thanks bro but they should watch it. I have decided to steer clear because of preposterous lines from some irrational guys here. Imagine someone in his right senses qstnng Kanu's Arsenal legendary status. An invincible who is the second most decorated African best, after Samuel Eto'o Fil.

So are friendlies and qualifiers. First you say he only liked playing big games now you are implying he quit because of AFCON, is AFCON not big enough?

Fact is only Moses knows exactly why he quit.

Can a player who plays a senior world cup at age let's say 17 still plays U-20 world cup?

It is not a question of "if Babatunde played as a winger" but who was keeping Moses out of the team (Starting XI). Babatunde played AM and CM. And so did Moses (AM) when he started in place of Babatunde against France. Musa and Osaze kept their places. Moses played Central against France and drifted to the flanks sometimes. This shows that Moses could be accommodated in the same lineup with Osaze and Musa but Babatunde was ahead under Keshi and justified the decision too.

Please don't miss the point. Even then, Moses took a little while more to really establish himself as a Super Eagles indispensable and key player in the long run. That is the point of my going back to the 2014 WC period

In all, bottomline is that Moses served us well and played a vital part in giving us our most glorious football moments so far in this 21st century. He will always be remembered as a Hero especially for the 2013 Afcon Triumph. He has called it quits and I think we should all respect it and move on... The future of Nigerian Football remains as bright as ever in terms of the avalanche of quality young talents coming through especially on the wings. In good time, we will make up for Moses' absence.

Victor Moses was played as a LW against Iran and it was Peter Odenwingie that was benched.

Babatunde replaced Ramon Azeez in the next match against Bosnia. Fact.

Of the three Nigerians, Reuben Yem has been the weakest so far. His wing has been leaky. Dives in too early for tackles.

Azango and Zubairu have been decent.
