He did not play in the midfield. He played on the right.
Etebo, Ndidi and Joel played in the middle.
And how would you rate Simeon Nwankwo?

Nothing stops us from fielding two different teams. Double money.
tbaba1234:

Logistics would have been tough on players (official excuse) or maybe Liberia offered more money.

I really like the look of him. I thought he was one of the stand-out performers.

Missed a few chances though. He should have had more than one.

Match fixing? Is this even a friendly? Lol

And that's match fixing!

Oh yes. Perform or not. If na u, will u put ur all. It’s psychological. This match is irrelevant.

To you it is irrelevant but not so for those players who saw this as an opportunity to prove a point to Rohr and Nigerian fans.

Onyekuru and Simmy scoring today has boosted both players chances in the team.

Rohr would be stupid to make conclusions from this game. The whole thing is a joke.

Can’t believe we turned down the Saudi Arabia game for this.

Still feel we should have done both. It was clearly a money saving decision but I hope it doesn't come back to bite us against Libya because I can't stand to miss another AFCON.
Re: "The Super Eagles Thread: The Road To AFCON 2023, 2025 And 2026 World Cup by Joebie: 11:08pm On Sep 11, 2018
Doing both would have meant more money. Besides since the Liberia match was just a testimonial match, we should have used it for experimenting.

Are u sure you even watched the game?

As for conclusions, coaches make conclusions from just closed door trainings. So how would Rohr not make certain conclusions from a game like this? For eg any player who performs poorly in this game has nothing to offer and should be kicked out.

It's true na Usman Mohammed's goal was even sweeter. Rohr must have used a different criteria to invite Nwakali.

I watched the game until I realized it was really Weah wearing that 14 shirt.

There are so many things wrong with Weah playing this match. It automatically makes the game not competitive.

Would have been money well spent. Or we should have found an African country to play. What we have done amounts to a waste.

Guy dis is very annoying. U mean, of all the fantastic wingers we have scattered all over Europe, he chose Nwakali on the disguise that he was invited as a number 10? Thats a criminal act. Rohr is not clean at all.

That is Rohr for you. When I complained about his weird tactics, people here tried to shut my mouth.

Simmy did well. He missed a clear goal but overall was good. Not trying to start unending argument about ighalo but there is something I observed from the wingers, when they were with the ball, they had that confidence of a potent striker who can convert crosses to goals. For instance, when Kalu made that run, it would have been very easy to lay a short ground pass but instead he had to cross it because he had confidence in simmy to score from that type of game.

Guy we have too many inverted wingers already who Nwakali cant dust their boots as an inverted winger, himself, hence it is stupid playing Nwakali as an inverted winger Neglecting the position (creative midfield) that demands urgent attention. U wanna tell me if Ebere, Ejaria, Ajagun or Igbekeme were there, they would have been played as inverted wingers. Do we need wingers or play makers? If Nwakali cant make it as a CM or AM, u fu¢king leave him out for a more suitable player. This Rohr Dude is a disgrace, I haven't seen such a clueless coach in the super eagles before.
I personally think the guy has his 23 for next year's Afcon in his mind. Dude was probably fulfilling all righteousness inviting Nwakali.
Then again, it could be that he didn't give two bleeps about this friendly...who knows?

I don't think everyone can be on the same page on every issue as we are all wired differently and have different ideologies about issues.

What matters most is to know when to call it quits with an argument before it deteriorates into something else.

Just saying.

Caz, since my joining the thread, it has never been you two on same side of an argument. I enjoy it though.

I see this game like that yobo testimonial match. Weah could give us lots of money, and we could still have allowed him score without it being match fixing. Was it Aki or Paw Paw we fielded the other day?
