What Will Happen If An Unstoppable Force Hits An Immovable Object by ghostofsparta(m): 10:23pm On Apr 06, 2016 |
Guys, I recently solved which came first the chicken or the egg, but this question is too pesky for me to ignore completely. So without googling for clues and answers as so many has proffered all over the web (believe me I haven't neither), I would really like to know what you eggheads think when an unstoppable force of nature collides with an immovable one. ITbomb:Truth is. . . I DON'T WEED because when I twice experimented with Canabis, it made me hallucinate like sh1t for a long time, guess why? Because I realized perhaps I am already high by default. So nothing is clearing off by morning, have you any answer to the question ? 4 Likes 1 Share |

when an unstoppable force hits an immovable object... well, the unstoppable force simple bounces off the immovable object and goes the other way...in its unstoppable fashion. while the immovable object remains immovable. pray do tell...which came first? the chicken or the egg? 7 Likes |

Sempumping: principle still applies. The unstoppable force keeps going back and forth in an infinite loop. 5 Likes |

samted:Logical answer from you samted, but let this 'thought experiment' is operating within a close-system wherein the unstoppable force is omni-directional and there is no where the immovable objects diverts its off to, the unstoppable force is exerting all its energy on the immovable object. Sempumping:, the force can't shatter for it is a fundamental type with unlimited mass/energy and the object itself can't shatter because it's particles (molecular structures) are so densely parked it resist to snap or crack. marshalcarter:The chicken (Adiye) came first to Earth (Ile-Aye) because Ifa states that "a pentadactyl cockerel was brought with....to Ile-Aye, by....." |

samted:Wow! you are really solving this. I concur. I think that's likely what's bound to happen within such a system, pure energy in the form of light. But let's still think of factors unaccounted for, btw do you believe in African science and technologies erroneously known as jaz/juju (you know na), by believe I am both referring to their existence and efficacy ? |

Re: What Will Happen If An Unstoppable Force Hits An Immovable Object by RobinHez(m): 1:41am On Apr 07, 2016 |
ghostofsparta: Going by newton's 3rd law of motion: I think the 'so called' unstoppable force would be brought to a halt. Because 1. It is the one in motion (more like na him go fine trouble) 2. The magnitude of the force at which it hits the immovable object is the same it would require for the object to 'push back at it' in order to maintain its status as immovable. The total force at that point becomes 0 as they both cancel each other. That's my own way of looking at it. |

Re: What Will Happen If An Unstoppable Force Hits An Immovable Object by ghostofsparta(m): 7:13am On Apr 07, 2016 |
RobinHez:Don't you get the logic in this puzzle, it can't be brought to a halt because it's unstoppable. It's an unceasing force of nature wherein it is abominable for it to rest. RobinHez:Exactly the crux of the question, what do you think happens in reality (which can be observed) when they cancel each other out ? |
Re: What Will Happen If An Unstoppable Force Hits An Immovable Object by RobinHez(m): 7:48am On Apr 07, 2016 |
ghostofsparta: Oh.. Sure it can! It's either it stops moving or the Immovable object is moved from place (the former looks more plausible). You can't shove a particular idea down my throat because in the first place, an unstoppable object and an immovable object would NEVER exist in the same universe! If not, a paradox is created! So bringing that object to a halt is my own way of providing an escape route for the question to be answered. Exactly the crux of the question, what do you think happens in reality (which can be observed) when they cancel each other out ?A blackhole is created?! |
Re: What Will Happen If An Unstoppable Force Hits An Immovable Object by ghostofsparta(m): 8:22am On Apr 07, 2016 |
RobinHez:You seem unable to grasp this, unstoppable hits immovable. BTW this is not a paradox, it is a 'thought experiment' no one is forcing you to partake in, so how has it been shoved down your throat ? RobinHez:This has nothing to do with... nor is it connected with the phenomena called 'Black Hole'. samted:You chose not to believe in the existence and or efficacy of what you regard as "such nonsense" presumably on the grounds they are scientifically implausible and yet you still allow it to be embedded in you without shedding it off as you become scientifically enlightened with age. Well, I'd wanted to know what your thought is regarding an unusual idea but the 'split-brain' syndrome now makes it difficult for me to construct the off-topic question I initially wanted to ask you given the way you tackled the OP. 1 Like |

Only ONE thing can happen, ABSOLUTE NEUTRALIZATION. Which obviously will lead to a MASSIVE EXPLOSION with a complete WIPING out of both entities from exsistence! 3 Likes |

Hmmmm......... Methinks an explosion will occur. A massive, massive explosion where the matter (unmovable object) is converted to energy. But wait, this thought experiment is paradoxical. |

Re: What Will Happen If An Unstoppable Force Hits An Immovable Object by saintneo(m): 11:23am On Apr 07, 2016 |
Three possibilities 1. They both combine and move at a slower speed (half the speed of unstoppable force) after collision. 2. They explode on collision, producing scattered particles travelling at different velocities. 3. The unstoppable force changes direction after collision. #2 is the most likely to occur. 1 Like |
