A friend of mine owns that car. I'm not sure I'd advise you to acquire it.
If you do decide to go ahead, find a competent mechanic and electrician /rewire.

Read up about the car and it's common faults, ask Nigerian owners what their experience is like, follow best maintenance practices , brace yourself and hope for the best.

If you allow people to tamper with your electrical system you will regret it. I think this car's biggest issues are electrical.

@OP i for like ask. av U test driven it abi na test driver it sef. how does d handling feel like? are U hearing any funny noise? wen U start d engine wat does it sound like?
if U can test drive it, it wld also help U kno wat to expect. and av a better feel of its present state.

The body of the vehicle is good. If you have the cash for maintenance you can buy the ride, thats if it was well maintained.

There are however not too many vw mechanics who know how to fix turbos in naija. Stay away from kazeems!!!

I'm assuming 200,000 is kilometres, and not miles. It looks more like an European model.

After scanning from a good friend. The following are the major drawbacks of the car.
1. Suspension is making noise from ball joints
2. Failing Clutch.
3. Sludge in Engine.
4. CEL not connected.
5. ECU failure to communicate.
6. ABS issue.
7. Car is hard starting.
The Car still has a good body,interior and peripherals work fine.
But I would like to know if it is easy to rectify the following faults and the probable cost in Nigeria.
