The fates patients on admission at the Ekiti State University Teaching Hospital are now hanging in the balance owing to a strike embarked on by members of the Association of Resident Doctors (ARD) because of unpaid four months salaries.

When journalists visited the university teaching hospital on Saturday, some of the patients complained that the doctors had practically abandoned their duty posts since Monday April 11 and this had deprived them of efficient medical treatments.

Some of the patients, who spoke under anonymity , said those diagnosed for critical ailments had pressed for referral to private hospitals and Federal Teaching Hospital , Ido Ekiti, to prevent sudden death.

A top member of the hospital’s management team who reacted to the strike under anonymity because he was not authorized to speak said:

“We are speaking to the striking doctors , but it seems as if they are recalcitrant , they didn’t want to bow to pressure at all.

Nothing to worry about.

Once Fayose is through with the kpomo he's cutting he'll deal with healthcare.

Please be patient.

Hospitals are shutting down in Ekiti state while Fayose is busy photoshoping himself in China.

Local government workers in the state are being owed 5 months salary while most civil servants and teachers are owed 3 months pay. The state is in serious mess and the silly governor is busy following Buhari around the world. Yet, nobody seems to be talking about the mess Fayose is making out of governing the state.

The press and most people talk more about Fayose's crass criticism of the president while looking the other way when it comes to assessing his performance as governor. In my opinion, he's probably the worst governor in Nigeria today.

They should enjoy it.

Their Governor is receiving treatment abroad because of his insanity.

How else will I describe a conference with business men at an open train station in China. I don't think this is politics, the guy needs medical attention. The earlier Ekiti people knows, the better for them.

Doing stand up comedy and saying he is speaking with business men

useless man.

Look at the picture critically.

Where are the business men ?

Shey they preferred stomach infrastructure to development of the state...lol they should turn to their rice and kerosene now to give them treatment, the way that tout talks sometimes you would think he got no issues at all in his state. Other governors were busy developing their states he was either busy cutting ponmo and fish in the market or monitoring Buhari around the world, Here is a governor owing Drs and other workers salaries and he could still use tax payers money to go take selfie in a chinese train station... EKiti people should enjoy what they invited

I once worked @ the Hospital in question during the regime of Fayemi. And I can honestly state that the latest time he pays the salary was 7th of the next month.
Also, there was free health service(encompassing surgery) once you have a referral form from any of the Primary Health Centres.
However, since the onset of Fayose's regime, all that has been coming from that side is pure propaganda. Can you imagine a so called management staff saying that the striking Doctors are ''recalcitrant"... the question is are they fighting for a just course or Not?

resident doctors in eksuth suspended their strike yesterday, this news is both stale and inaccurate. the resident doctors also continued with emergency services throughout the period of their strike, why is this not reflecting in the story

bad journalism!
