2008/2009 C300 Or 2010 Toyota Venza V6 AWD? by Kufie(m): 2:38pm On Apr 24, 2016
Hello petrolheads, I'll be visiting Nigeria in June and I'm expected to be there for 2-3 months. I love to drive myself and as far as I know, there's no car rental company that lets you drive yourself (I hope I'm mistaken) over there. I'll be making trips from Abuja to Enugu, to Owerri, to Delta and Uyo. May go as far as Sokoto. Which of these vehicles will be the best bet for that trip? I love the C300 for its agility and sportiness and it has a relatively powerful V6 engine. Why I'm considering the Venza is because it offers almost the same driving experience and has the advantage of a better ground clearance. Please I need your advice on this one. Thank you

Uhm...the C300 is the lowest when it comes to ground clearance, but quite powerful just like u said. The Venza is more of a wagon(to me) than an SUV. Its very comfortable, spacious and efficient. RX350 like the guy suggested is also very luxurious which translates into being comfortable and quite efficient too. Would go for the RX350 over the Venza, even though they are built on the same platform. It looks a bit rounded than the Venza, but then again that's just me. If fuel economy or cost isn't much of a problem,I would go for the GX470 or GX460. Very rugged SUV, capable off-road with good on road manners.

Brilliant one. Thank you. I'm now considering the RX350 as it is much cheaper to acquire even as a tokunbo.

An RX350 can not be cheaper than a venza especially when you consider same year of manufacture.

Pleasure to drive most certainly the C300 is.

Will you have passengers or load? If not, then get the C300. The roads can be bad and the ride low but I don't think its that low or so bad that with a single person in it, you would have trouble.

For one thing, it is not a thief magnet.

If not, then get the Venza.

Its a nice ride, higher ground clearance, but then it is Toyota, and so because it is, it tends to try to attract unwanted attention smiley

and now that RX350 has come into the picture:

Question has been asked before: https://www.nairaland.com/2600736/toyota-venza-vs-toyota-lexus.

If you run a search at toyotanation with this phrase, you will get more insights: "Venza vs. Lexus RX350", the first comment read:

My personal opinion is that:
- The Venza is wider
- The Venza has longer wheelbase
- The Venza has better ground clearance (Yes, that shows you how much of an SUV the RX is )
- The Venza is cheaper

the second reads:

As a currently Venza owner and have driven both cars, all of I have to say is you get for what you paid. Venza is nice and all compared to other Toyotas and Hondas but Lexus is a step or two up, its interior is much nicer, softer leather, more luxury (the trim and dashboard doesn't look and feel cheap like the Venza). I picked Venza over Lexus strictly because of my budget and the overall total cost of ownership...maybe I'll go for a Lexus next time...

...don't want to post thread lest I be banned.

Of course, if i were in your shoes, i would do the same... drive myself...which I will do when I do visit soon

Yes, you're right. I've been looking at the 2006 model

Its RX330 for 2006 and it is considerably cheaper than a 2009 venza. Even 2007 RX350 is a bit cheaper than the venza. Its true the venza is just a bit higher than the RX330
2006 RX330-7.09inches
2007 RX350-7inches
Venza-8inches

The Toyota Venza meets all the cars halfway. It's probably your best bet.

The Venza is reliable, has good resale value with a better ground clearance compared to the c300 while hugging the road better than the Lexus RX350 and GX.

The Lexus RX350 is also a good alternative.

I've considered the fact that I'll be the only one. Only thing I'll have with me is just my laptop and a few clothes. The ride height of the C300 shouldn't be a problem in this case. Beautiful contribution BTW. Thank you
