How To Create Quality Content For Your Social Media Page Regularly by tobikudayisi: 3:46pm On Apr 26, 2016
As an entrepreneur starting out with a new business( online or offline) you'll quickly realize that most successful businesses in Nigeria today have a strong online presence. Especially online retail businesses like Jumia, Konga, Disenado Nigeria, etc. This is because most of your future customers will first go to social media to find out about you and your business. So it makes sense to dole out valuable and engaging content on your Facebook, Twitter or Instagram page. But how do you go about this?

Do Your Research
One good way is to research what kind of content will be of value to your target market e.g. news, funny pics, brain teasers, important announcements, motivational quotes and so on. The list is endless.

How do you come up with this kind of content? Fortunately there are several sites that you can get Content like these for your social media page for free. Example are BrainBashers, Funology, Forbes Top 100 Inspirational Quotes etc.

Packaging
Now that you have juicy content, you have to package it in a way that's appealing to your target market. You have to present your content in such a way that they will want to engage. There are ways to do this as I describe below.

You can present your content as images; beautiful eye-catching background images with text written on them. You can find sites that provide beautiful images that will suit your needs. Sites like iStockPhoto, GraphicStock and Pixabay offer stock images for free.

Once you have your desired background images, you will need image-editing software to draw your preferred text on these images. Remember to use appealing fonts as well, as the ultimate goal of creating content is to get customers to engage. I usually download my fonts for free from Dafont, they have nice fonts on their site. You can use Adobe Photoshop, Corel Draw or any other image-editing software of your choice; I personally use Corel Draw, is easy to use.

Copywriting
Another way of packaging your content is through copywriting. Copywriting is the 'art' of arranging words in a way that persuades a person or a group of people. It is writing text for the sole purpose of advertising. There are several sites where you can learn copywriting online for free: CopyBlogger offers free ebooks on copywriting (you can register for free), and Sherus offers an online copywriting tutorial.

Most of the things list here can be outsourced or done by one of your employees, and I encourage you to delegate some of these tasks if you can afford to hire professionals. However, if you are just starting out in business or you don't have enough resources to hire copywriters or graphic designers, then this info will be of great help to you, most of the resources mentioned here are free and you can search for them through Google. If you don't know how to search for information on Google, then you need help smiley

Hope this helps!
