newbornmacho: The former Oonis either did not do these pagan festivals or did them in private. It therefore follows that the present Ooni is either a pagan or a publicist. All in the name of tradition. 1 Like |

9jacrip: Op change that goddess/deity of swamp To Goddess and stop being derogatory. It's the same as saying god to your jesus. Have you ever wonder why the Brites or Europe will never reffer to your kings as kings ? why they always call them chiefs ? Now it is the same reason they use small letter g to depict our Gods.. Please be educated when you write yor chum burn. 1 Like |

scully95: Uncle, calm down. You may have a point but you should also know Olodumare is the GOD while the deities like Osaara are gods. Take your own advice 'Please be educated when you write your chum burn' 1 Like |

9jacrip: When you said Eledumare, you used GOD.. Then you should be ok to use God for the Irunmoles. Just as Jesus is being reffered to as God. Now that's my point. Eledumare is GOD. Irunmoles, Orisa should always be regarded as capital letter G any time. Even though we don't have this type of discrimination in our oral language, Yoruba. This English is not ours and we need to correct these English poeple each time they make a derogatory remarks against our Gods. 2 Likes 1 Share |

scully95: Olodumare & Irunmoles are not equals. Using G for both makes it hard to differentiate and puts them at par - no. Jesus being referred to as God is a Christianity thing, we do not operate with that. Irunmole is not Olodumare and Olodumare is not Irunmole. I can't be OK to use or see people use G for Olodumare & his creations Irunmole. 2 Likes |

9jacrip: Is God and Jesus Equal ? Whatever the case, I would never reffer to Orunmila using a small letter g. Never, because Orunmila story is the same as the Jesus story, infact the god of hebrew copied african religious ideologies, remodified it and resold it here. As a matter of fact, Olodumare or Eledumare isok with Using all the letters as big letters, like this GOD.. While it's ok and right to use God for all the 401 Irunmoles. My point still remains valid. It's christian thing right ? English is also Christian thing so we are making the same point as to why the same christian thing would never reffer to your Kings as Kings but rush to address them as Chiefs. Now this is the same reason they will continue to use g for Yoruba Gods. To show to you that your God is in no way compared to their Brainwash god Jesus , re-modifided and re-sold copy and paste religious ideology from the African traditional religious civilization. For your information, Ile Ife Existed 10,000 years before the birth of jesus christ. It is older than Palmyra that the Russians recently Liberated from Western backed Terrorists. My point is still very valid and it remains Olodumare/Eledumare= GOD All the 401 Irunmoles/Orisa= Gods Case clossed ! |

scully95: It makes no sense arguing over a letter case. However, it is all semantics but in your attempt at being pro-African, you're creating an antithetical structure in Iseese to that of foreign belief. Olodumare [God] Irunmole [deities/gods] Olodumare is not Irunmole God Jesus [deity] But in Christianity (apart from JW) [Jesus is God & God is Jesus] Difference: either GOD for Olodumare or God for Irunmole, they are not the same. Olodumare created the Irunmole. When writing in English, all uppercase in a sentence is invalid. Hence, Olodumare takes the uppercase G while irunmole takes the lowercase - using G for both not only creates confusion but 'de-reps' Olodumare. 2 Likes |

scully95: I totally agree with this. I also Don't use small g when referring to Pagan Deities.... it's totally disrespectful considering in english people never refer to Jesus as god 1 Like 1 Share |

9jacrip: What is the difference between the nature of the irunmole and Olodumare? Olodumare is part of the 401 deities, only being higher than the other 400.. 200 at the right and 200 at the left What the guy is trying to say is that we must not let others have the impression that Isese deities are less than what the Europeans brought to Africa. when we agree with them that we venerate gods while they have a trinity of Gods |
