I guess it is the new windows 10. There was a bug on windows 10 that didn't allow mtp to show on the laptop. You need to do your system update to resolve this issue. Sorry for the inconvenience

Better still install shareit on both ur laptop and phone then connect both through ur laptop wifi. You can transfer whatever you want from ur phone likewise from ur pc

I may be a lil late but look up Database in WhatsApp folder through File Manager or File Explorer and delete or move previously backup data. Or Goto Phone Settings and locate Storage, then tap on Total Available Space or something close to that(I don't use Xiaomi though) and then tap on Misc. to see what's eating up your phone storage.

WITHOUT REFORMATTING A PHONE, IS THERE A WAY 1 CAN CLEAR THE WIFI CACHE?....
baes new fone plays ig and fb videos without buffering...while her old note 4 will buffer and stutter trying to play same video...while still being connected on same wifi.

thus i fee the wifi cache is filled up..if ever there is anything like that
