You're so ignorant.
You're from Africa and you don't know it snows in some African countries.
The next thing you did was to tell me there's a difference between hailstorm and snow.
Like i haven't been living in America for 15 years now.
Go see a doctor

U shuld b d 1 ignorant here, apart frm some part of south Africa, it does nt snow in Africa, most times hail is mistaken for snow. Example is the case of Kenya in 2008 or so.

Its ma field and i knw beta. undecided
Hail and snow are two different phenomena. You that claim it's your field shall know better. It snows in North African countries like Egypt and some high elevations like top of out kilimanjaro.
This particular hail storm is a common phenomenon in northern Nigeria not just Plateau or Taraba. I have witnessed it in Kano Jigawa and Bauchi countless number of times.

It's not unusual. Jos is on a plateau. It's the same with places on plateaus like mambila, obudu and Udi in Enugu state.

Hailstorm: rains ice. Has happened in Benin city and Lagos, but the ice falling was much smaller.

They teach these things in secondary school... smiley

Snow in Africa is possible especially in the uplifted areas, bt den its nt normal or expected as Africa is characterized with a relatively high temperature. Ve nt witnessed snow or heavy hail b4 bt den i so ignorant abt Africa as well. Peace!!!
Re: Big Balls Of Ice That Fell In Jos by Nobody: 5:58pm On May 11, 2016
Those are hail stones, another form of precipitation as snow, rain, dew.
when evaporation occurs due to insolation from sunlight, water molecules move upwards into the troposphere (the weather making layer of the atmosphere) where it condenses with other molecules forming heavy cloud.
When the cloud is too heavy it comes down as precipitation .The upper atmosphere is very cold, the reason we receive rainfall here (in Africa) instead of snow or hail is because of the warm weather here, when the ice crystals fall from the cloud as soon as in starts to near us on the ground, because of the increase in temperature - it melts into liquid droplets.

The reason they were able to witness hail stones in jos is because of the high altitude that characterises jos, when the ice droplets fall from the clouds, the temperature down isn't warm so the ice droplets don't melt, instead, they fall as "ice block" otherwise known as hail stones.
