This foundation have to be very high... up to 6 coaches (block) from the concrete blind and should take a little height higher than the gate level, like 600m above. Considering that flood enters the compound from the street each time is raining. In other to achieve our purpose that is the way out. Happy weekend fellow nairalanders. You have a good looking foundation there, shows artisans with a good eye for detail. If they go to this level on below ground stuff, I can't wait to see what they'll do above ground.

Ok, then Follow its details, the alphabetical and numerical details are highly important to achieve the foundation brace stud which is also important because without it sudden intense pressure will burst open the the foundation wall that is affected.

Good job boys we are done with sand filling, levelling and watering same time ... It took 130 tons of sharp sand.

Here is the Making of the front external pillars in details.

Depth : 1.21m

Breadth : 1m squared

The concrete in there for the blinding is a mixture of moderate standard 8 pans of sharp sand, 8pans of neat gravel and 4 pans of 1/2" stone (hard core) to make a bed for the 4" spaced 12mm basket... hereafter comes a straight pillar made of 16mm rod with ring size of 8mm rod 10" intermediate spacing. Then concrete cast comes on the basket up to 1foot 3" thickness. The block forming usually takes more time because there is no much space in there.

The centre hole where the pillar is elected have to filled with a good watery concrete.... See pics
