Fast this morning, I did 1gb in about 30 mins, but it was very very slow before now, even at home yesterday night when I took the modem home I didn't get more than 1.1 Mbps. This happens whenever it rains, I wonder when they will get it right. oyb: |

GrandMufti: I also have a Kate and I have tried to no avail to get data only 4g Sims to work. Network just appeared for a few seconds then disappears again. So obviously, the issue is from miuI. Unfortunately for me I'm addicted to miui. I wish we can get a solution to make it work out miui. If you ever find any, please do let us know. |

GrandMufti:The curious aspect of this is that radio/modem file isn't included in the custom roms. You still have flash a miui firmware file, which contains a radio/modem file, in order to get mobile network and WiFi working. So, it's like you are still running miui in the background, just a different rom. |

pheesayor: i suspect they are throttling. i have full bars and i STILL have 100kb/s and below this has been going on for over 48 hours now. |
Re: Subscriber Options for UNLIMITED Internet - WORTH IT? by pheesayor(m): 6:11pm On Mar 22, 2017 |
I doubt, at times even with three bars I get as low as 15kbps, right now it is at 9.8Mbps, one of the best since I've been using them. Might remain the same until it rains again oyb: |
Re: Subscriber Options for UNLIMITED Internet - WORTH IT? by pheesayor(m): 6:11pm On Mar 22, 2017 |
and maybe if you're still having 100kbps then it has to do with location, I learnt Festac has never been good with ntel oyb: |

Re: Subscriber Options for UNLIMITED Internet - WORTH IT? by alt3r3g0: 10:35am On Mar 23, 2017 |
malikalhaj: I will take a wild guess and say you must be in Abuja to get 10MB/s. |
Re: Subscriber Options for UNLIMITED Internet - WORTH IT? by malikalhaj: 11:33am On Mar 23, 2017 |
alt3r3g0:Lagos, except i am missing i can see 10Mb/s not 10MB/s |
Re: Subscriber Options for UNLIMITED Internet - WORTH IT? by alt3r3g0: 11:52am On Mar 23, 2017 |
malikalhaj: My mistake It seems they have not learnt from their first GSM episode. A service, no matter how cheap in relation to its competition stops being "value for money" when the value is missing. |

dustmalik: Did you get volte on any of those custom roms ? |
Re: Subscriber Options for UNLIMITED Internet - WORTH IT? by Nobody: 7:03pm On Mar 23, 2017 |
i strongly suspect its throttling of some sort it seems between 5 and 8 am i get normal speeds, but any other time i am stuck on 100kb/s or is it because validity is about to expire? |
Re: Subscriber Options for UNLIMITED Internet - WORTH IT? by miki2014: 10:00am On Mar 24, 2017 |
Service is generally unreliable here on the island. Fast sometimes, then unexpectedly, you get a massive drop in speed. Service outage occurs too often. It's been a daily thing since the rains started this week. Coverage is also irregular. Some parts of Admiralty way and Freedom way in Lekki 1 have zero coverage. Fastest download speed I've recorded so far is around 12Mbps (At Ajah) and all through this morning, it's been bouncing around a measly 0.3 - 0.4Mbps. It's my 2nd week on the network and every day, I either have to call customer service or send a message to them on twitter. If anyone from Ntel is monitoring this thread, you all need to step up! If you don't have the infrastructure to support an unlimited service, then take it off the table. We'll prefer to pay well for a reliable service. For now, I'm getting set to return to Smile.

So I tried something today. I have access to 2 separate Ntel lines so I decided to check performance So different lines in the same location. Same test hardware, same file download. On the first line I was getting 1.2Mbps On my 2nd I was getting 320kbps I checked 3 times. Definitely believe something is wrong somewhere...... |

Re: Subscriber Options for UNLIMITED Internet - WORTH IT? by 4llerbuntu(m): 6:00pm On Mar 24, 2017 |
miki2014: You are funny o. So what will be their selling point if they remove the unlimited tier. Have u even checked their other plans? People wey never make 10% of their investment. U want them to close shop within 3 months, They are not better than any other Telco in anything. Not coverage, not QoS, nothing. Their issue isn't congestion. Im sure they barely have 1 million regular subscribers now. |

amblors: amblors: For 4G only networks, Check offices around you and find out the speed of each of them. For Glo and Mtn, ask people around you. Test-run the sim before you buy any. |
