As I speak Ecobank is currently sacking staff via SMS and letters. A sample of the SMS sent to a staff is as follows:

I made enquiries and what you wrote is false, you posted it on that airwavesreport, about 1000+ staff ranging from Regional engineers to ebusiness staff were all laid off and IDs disabled. I ll add more facts soon.

More updates:

Every staff that is less than 10 years were paid meagre amount for the Core staff while all contracts staff were just given a month salary in lieu.

This is very bad and it should not be encouraged.
