Am i the only who thinks the manufacturers are making the douche nozzles too long.  I am getting to hate douching now because the nozzle is very long (hurts and very uncomfortable).   Is anyone else having the same problem? I am thinking of starting a petition, because they really should make the nozzle shorter

why do you douche? maybe i should be more general. what is the purpose of douching?

douching - cleaning the inside of your vagina.  I don't think it's a must because some doctors say your vagina is self cleaning .  I can't explain it but after douching you feel soo fresh down there.  I do it quaterly.  maybe the doctors on here can say more. well i figure they sell it in America so it's ok to use

douching isnt good, it kills the good bacterias inside your vagina which makes your vagina more prone to vaginal infections and irritations. the vagina is very acidic and with this it natural cleans itself so by using douche it changes the balance inside there. just washing the outside of the vagina not the INSIDE with a mild soap and water is enough for miss jayjay. and if you have already existing vaginal infection and uses douche it sends everything up in there. in other words it worsen the condition. and it does absolutely nothing to treat anything ex. odor it only masks it and after the douching the odor will still be there

and also for women/girls/ladies who douche after sex this doesn't work. if your intention is to prevent sperms from climbing up in there, guess what? you're sending them up in there in a fast elevator. using a douche after sex as a method of BC is a failed course. it has 80% failure rate.

yea, you might feel good after douching but remember not everything that is good, or feel good is BENEFICIAL especially to your health. and because everyone out there is using/doing it doesnt make it better or more beneficial.

True, I agree

there are opposing views on douching but you're both right- it does make the vagina feel fresher, while on the other hand it could predispose to infection due to the loss of beneficial bacteria.

and also all those products thats says "clinically/dermatological tested" dont be easily sway with such. how was the test conducted? what was the criteria? who did the who? you have to be your own health advocate.

the only time when it's appropriate to douche is when the doctor recommends it and they usually do with a severe case of yeast infections etc. the ones they usually give has a special solution to it.

i wouldn't recommend douching to a friend, there's no need for it.

the pic of the douche (looks like metal) in your attached is different from the douche I posted (nozzle is very soft)Honestly, I [b]never heard of anyone complaining about douche and I still don't understand if it's that bad WHY the US is allowing pharmacies to sell it. Even though we scared you, I'm glad u started the thread. At least you found out douching is harmful. Glad u wont be douching anymore (I hope u wont, anyway). But if u still have doubts, speak to ur doctor, he/she'll tell u the same thing.

no need to be confused my dear. there's no necessary need for it. it does more harm than good (no good that i can think of sef). so if you're a user i did suggest you stop and just wash with the good 'ol warm water and mild soap, only the outside not the inside. just leave that part to clean itself. and if you're still adamant about using it, i'did suggest you wait until you go for your next doctor checkup and ask your PP for her opinions and i guarantee you she wouldnt tell you any difference than what has been said here already.
